Herbs and Spice - Spring Brown Ale In the dark of the night is made this darker roast brown ale. A little caramel malt for roundness of flavor is added, but it ends crisp and clean. A healthy amount of cardamom and Turkish fennel play with a little astringency from mugwort - requisite for all magical ales of this character. Kaffir lime leaves add some bright character to the finish to balance the darker spices. Our gnomes have been seen taking pint-sized wooden jugs of Dark Flowers into their candle-lit lairs to sip as they carouse and make musical merry.
