The farmhouse brewers of old based their recipes on what was available to them. From this, a distinct terroir emerged. To capture the essence of our own locale, we brew Field Beer with 100% Connecticut grown malted barley, and hop varieties that have proven successful in our region. As our hop yard and the others around us mature, we will be switching to 100% CT grown hops. Over the course of the year you will notice changes in Field Beer. To emphasize the seasonality of agriculture and brewing, we will adjust the recipe each season to include a small percentage of an alternative grain while adjusting the hops to truly complement the character of our house yeast and Connecticut malt.
