Richard Gerrish was the Captain of the first ship built in Dover in 1698, which was built for trade with the West Indies. It is possible that his ship carried some of the first IPA's ever created. Full bodies with a light amber color, this beer has a well rounded malt bill to balance out the large amounts of hops. Strong flavor and aromas or citrus and pine are met with high bitterness. We also dry hop this beer in the serving tank which lends additional hop flavor and aroma.
