Deep brown with touches of amber, this traditional German/Austrian-style translates as “March beer,” historically brewed in the early Spring and stored throughout the summer months in cool mountain caves, during which time it was too difficult to brew due to the hot weather. This style is the forerunner to Oktöberfestbier. Toasty malt characteristics are balanced by notes of Noble hops, offering a mild and pleasant bitterness. Full-bodied yet crisp, it is the perfect beer to complement the shifting seasons.
