This light style lager originates from the Munich region of Southern Germany. It was originally created in the 1800's to compete with the ever growing popularity of the Czeck style pilsners. It is light bodied with a very slightly sweet malt overtone. The use of German Noble hops is noticeable but takes a back seat to the light malt flavors. As it is a lager style yeast, this beer ferments at cool temperatures and lagers or matures at temperatures just above freezing. The lager yeast and maturation at low temperatures gives this beer a clean and refreshing character, making it a perfect thirst quencher. The lower alcohol content makes it a very easy drinking session style beer for any occasion.
