Mild ales are part of the English bitter family, generally clocking around the same or slightly lower ABV as “ordinary bitters” but usually with a little less pronounced hop character. They tend to exhibit nice balance, and Sara’s Ruby Mild is true to form in this regard. It’s light in body and makes for a great “session beer”. In the UK, milds are lunchtime beers, favored by miners in the Midlands and other laborers who want refreshment without dehydration.
