I will assume that everyone knows that “Alt” is the German word for old and refers to the old style of brown ale (as opposed to the new style, lager) brewed in the area around Dusseldorf. What many people don’t know is that the Altbier brewers in and around Dusseldorf often brew a secret beer, stronger and hoppy than the regular version, for special customers. (“Sticka” is slang for secret) This beer is often only advertised with a picture of a blindfolded beer drinker.
