During the devastating hop shortage of 2007 I had to stop the production of my American Pale ale and my India Pale Ale. Like our beloved patrons I was not happy and stuck with a couple varieties of very low alpha acid hops. Stouts, browns, ambers, and fruit beers became the norm. For 18 months hop heads would ask me, “when are you going to brew something hoppy?” Finally some delicious American flavor/ aroma hops landed into my brew house! I wanted the hops to last so I developed a Red ale with some very nice hop characteristics. Mild bitterness, great flavor, and a balanced malt and hop nose. So to the persistent hop headed patrons … here it is - Something Hoppy.
