Super Snapper is a strong, roasty, hoppy, complex ale—kind of like a Red Snapper meets an IPA. We started with the Red Snapper recipe and added 150 pounds more Pilsner malt, 20 pounds more caramel malt, 7.5 pounds more Cascade bittering hops during the boil, and an extra pound of Cascades to dry hop in the fermenter. The result is a hybrid ale that is a deep reddish copper with a medium body, rich roasty malts, and zesty, citrusy hops on the palette. It has a long bitter finish that derives from both the roasted malts and the 47 IBU. Super Snapper was brewed to commemorate Arbor Brewing Company and the Brewpub’s tenth anniversary.
