Our kitchen crew took 160 pounds of raw sweet potatoes, boiled and mashed them, added brown sugar and dropped them into the mash. This candied potato porter highlights crystal and carapils malts that add caramel tones while its starches lighten the body creating a smooth drinking porter. More of a brown porter than a robust one, this ale shies away from the traditionally roasted and chocolate tones typically associated with porters.
