In the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region of France, home of Biere de Garde, is the Strait of Calais. The first offering in our Navigator Series of barrel-aged beers, we started with a caramel-toffee, copper colored ale of the traditional style. From there it was aged a shade over 6 months in freshly emptied bourbon barrels from our friends in Kentucky where it got a dose of honey infused with truffles.  Oui! Oui! The resulting beer is gently carbonated, with a whipped lacy head, aromas of earth, bourbon and white oak char. Take your time, sip and enjoy the changing complexities.
