Shoobies were city folks who journeyed to the beach by train in the late 1800s. Their ticket included a shoe box lunch, hence the name. Since then the term has become a pet name for tourists who feed seagulls, wear socks with flip flops, or just seem generally confused by the seashore. So sad. So cute. We love us some Shoobies.
