Not everything in life gets better with age, but quite often things get more interesting. Historically speaking the person who placed the metal hoops on the barrel was known as a “Hooper” in naming our Barrel Aged Rye Porter we tip our hats and glasses to the barrel makers. Our Brewers utilize several types of whiskey barrels in our 7-month aging process. (ask distributor for type of barrel used in each specific batch) The time in the barrel transfers complex characteristics of oak, smoke, and whiskey to our Robust Rye Porter.
