For this year’s batch of beer featuring locally grown mandarins, we decided to get a bit kveik-y. Kveik is a family of yeast used in Norwegian farmhouse brewing, one particular strain of which we have used in this beer. This unique yeast strain has imparted a spicy orange note which pairs extremely well with the whole macerated mandarins added to the fermentation. A luscious malt base and light touch of Juniper berry character round out this unique, malty, and quaffable farmhouse ale.
