Matryoshka (the Russian name for nesting dolls) ages for almost a year in barrels, stacking layers upon layers of elegant complexity. This series begins with a strong Russian Imperial Stout which is transferred to barrels. The brewers then add layers of adjuncts, resulting in a progression of smaller and smaller variations. This year both Four Roses Bourbon barrels and Willamette Valley Pinot Noir barrels were used for aging.
