No.16 And we quote: Ughhh.....You think your having a bad day, try having a bad life! The ocean is so boring you might as well be looking at the sky. All three of my bikes are at the brewery and I haven’t had water in three days. The best thing about being a pessimist is proving an optimist wrong. Life will be easier when I’m dead. Dude, drink this, cheer up!

Ruin

Ruin :: Rosemary Agave IPA. With the world crumbling around us, there may be nothing left but you and this beer. Ruin builds you up before it breaks you down, with herbal and citrus aromas and the desolate yet compelling wind of the desert. Fresh rosemary in the mash, powdered lemon peel in the finish and pure agave nectar in the boil combine with fierce Amarillo hops to bring you an IPA to hunker down with. Stock it next to your canned goods and drinking water, and wake me when it’s over. 7.3% ABV, 70 IBUs

RuinTen Triple IPA

We first released this decidedly indelicate beer in 2012, as Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our belovedly bitter Stone Ruination IPA. Stone RuinTen IPA uses the same recklessly hoppy recipe as the 2012 release; only the name has changed, as we plan to unleash this belligerently delicious hop monster upon the public annually from now on. We packed a whopping five pounds of hops into each barrel, and cranked up the ABV to stand up to the hop onslaught. The results are glorious, and we know you'll rejoice in tasting this audacious gem of hoppy splendor once again. You're welcome.

Dry Hopped Saison

Originally, Saisons were brewed in Belgium for the farm workers to enjoy after a long day in the field; and while we’re not working in the fields all day we are thirsty! The recipe for this beer was formulated with input from the entire CLBC brew crew, fermented with a traditional Belgian yeast strain, and dry hopped with US grown hops. Straight from the Captain’s cellar to yours, we hope you enjoy!

Saison

The French-speaking region of southern Belgium is the birthplace of saison, the love child of a centuries-old tradition of small rural "farmhouse" breweries, where native yeasts and time-honored recipes combined to produce some of the world’s most distinctive beers. As a tribute to this artisanal institution, we offer our own brisk, unruly Saison. Truly an artful balancing act, it is both rustic and subtle, robust yet effervescent, spicy and fruity.

Saison and Garfunkel

This saison was a small collaboration with an eatery in the Wicker Park area of Chicago, so we wanted this beer to be easily paired with food. The initial idea was a saison with citrus flavors, so we took notes and went to work on a test batch. Pleased with the test batch, we moved to the large system. The amounts of spices translated to 3#s of peppercorns, 1.5#s of fresh rosemary, and the peels from 20#s of clementines on the 15bbl system. This beer also did all of its fermentation above 80F, peaking at around 88F. What we have as a result is a very aromatic, freshly citrus beer with all the great characteristics of a Belgian farmhouse ale. The ABV on this brew is a hefty 8.3% so don’t let the delicacy fool you.
