Sun Pillar Double IPA

The Story: During the winter months, the Sun sets behind Lolo Peak, and on the coldest evenings, a rare massive sun pillar may appear. A sun pillar looks like a thin column that extends vertically above the sun. The sun pillar is prominently visible when the Sun is low or lies below the horizon. It normally forms an arc that extends from five to ten degrees beyond the solar disc. Sun pillars are formed by reflection from ice crystals with roughly horizontal faces. The Beer: The Sun Pillar Double IPA is a more robust version of our 3 Needles IPA. It features a more intense hop profile and higher ABV. The resulting beer is perfect for people looking to enjoy a, frankly, bigger IPA.

Sunburn

When you look at the Scoville scale for spice index you immediately realize that jalapeno peppers just aren't going to do the trick. That's why we jumped on the Serrano pepper wagon right off the bat. Ultimately even THOSE couldn't please Chris, one of our owners so we turned to habanero peppers. Sunburn Pepper Beer features a pleasant malty backbone and even some citrus notes in the hops which helps absorb some of the heat from the peppers. The beer is allowed to cure for several weeks, the heat slowly building as it steeps into the brew. By the time we put Sunburn on tap, you'll feel like you could use just a touch of aloe vera to cool things off. Never fear though. We like to keep things subtle at Muddy Creek so you don't have to worry about immediately tearing up your mouth and throat. Like a real sunburn, the beer goes about it's business slowly and quietly.

Sunburn Summer Brew

Sunburn Summer Brew is a very smooth, refreshing, sessionable ale. Sunburn is light in color, body, and bitterness, but by no means light in flavor. Sunburn’s point of differentiation is that it delivers an abundance of flavor via the new hop called Citra. Citra is aptly named for its thirst quenching citrus flavor and aroma. Sunburn Summer Brew is lighter in alcohol, full in flavor with a crisp finish making this a great beer for any summer afternoon.

Sunburnt Irish Red Ale

Like an Irishman on holiday in the Canaries, this beer has a red tint and a chilled out, mellow feel. Sunburnt Irish Red takes the characteristic sweet caramel malt and burnt barley of an Irish red ale and adds additional malt complexity by using six different malts. The malt body is counterbalanced with Australian and New Zealand hops, adding a modern twist to the traditional style.
