Saint Arnold Amber Ale

A well balanced, full flavored, amber ale. It has a rich, malty body with a pleasant caramel character derived from a specialty Caravienne malt. Saint Arnold Elissa IPA

A traditional India Pale Ale, the Elissa IPA is very hoppy with a properly balanced malty body. Elissa has huge hop additions in the kettle that give it a wonderful bitterness and is then dry-hopped in the fermenter to create the pleasant floral, hoppy nose. Our reverse osmosis water makes the bitter very soft with no harsh notes to it. The maltiness is derived from British Maris Otter malt. Its rich flavor stands up to the hops that would otherwise dominate this beer. The Elissa is an authentic version of an India Pale Ale (IPA) style. Recommended pairings: Any style of seafood, Indian food, & spicy Thai.

Saint Arnold Fancy Lawnmower

A true German-style Kölsch. Originally brewed in Cologne, this beer is crisp & refreshing, yet has a sweet malty body that is balanced by a complex, citrus hop character. Multiple additions of German Hallertauer hops are used to achieve this delicate flavor. We use a special Kölsch yeast, an ale yeast that ferments at lager temperatures, to yield the slightly fruity, clean flavor of this beer. Fancy Lawnmower Beer is a world class brew yet light enough to be enjoyed by Texans after strenuous activities, like mowing the lawn. Saint Arnold Fancy Lawnmower Beer is best consumed at 35-45° Fahrenheit. Recommended pairings: Blackened fish, salads, & grilled veggies.

Saint Arnold Root Beer

Big, sweet, flavorful and old-fashioned! Saint Arnold Root Beer is made with Imperial Cane Sugar (absolutely no high fructose corn syrup), vanilla extract and lots of yummy (but secret) flavorings. The cane sugar gives it a sweetness and mouthfeel that cannot be achieved through corn syrup. The flavors explode in your mouth. The only way to improve on our Root Beer is to add a scoop of vanilla ice cream!

Saint Arnold Texas Weat

A refreshing, flavorful filtered wheat beer. The perfect beer to accompany a meal or for a summer's day. The wheat contributes a lighter flavor while maintaining a rich body. The beer has a light hop profile -- just enough to give the beer balance and complexity. The light fruitiness is derived from a Kölsch yeast strain. A chill haze may be present, which is a characteristic of wheat beers. Saint Arnold Texas Wheat is best consumed at 40-45° Fahrenheit. Recommended pairings: Quiche, roasted veggies, grilled salmon, & sushi.

Saint Arnold Weedwacker

Weedwacker is essentially a Bavarian hefeweizen. Except it isn’t. Weedwacker is exactly the same beer as Fancy Lawnmower Beer but we ferment it with Bavarian hefeweizen yeast instead of kölsch yeast. It is light and refreshing but has a spicy clove note and some banana esters that come from the different yeast. While it is a close relation to Lawnmower, it tastes completely different. Also, Weedwacker is our only unfiltered year-round beer. Expect to see some yeast at the bottom of the bottle.

Saison

Allagash Saison is our interpretation of a classic Belgian farmhouse style. It is a golden hued beer, brewed with a 2-Row blend, malted rye, oats and dark Belgian candi sugar. Saison is hopped with Tettnang, Bravo, and Cascade hops. Fermented with a traditional saison yeast strain, Saison exhibits notes of spice and tropical fruit in the aroma. Citrus and a peppery spice dominate the flavor and make way for a pleasant malt character. Saison is full bodied with a remarkably dry finish.

Saison

No cork or wire cage here. We’re getting back to the spirit of a Saison as a beer you can drink every day, not just special occasions. Refreshing and complex, the high fermentation temperature used with the Belgian yeast strain allows it to add its unique characteristics to the flavor without the addition of spices. Saisons are a great style that can be appreciated by both the informed and informal beer drinker.

Saison

Our Saison is as old-world as it gets. We use 100% Colorado ingredients: Colorado water, malted and raw barley and wheat, Crystal hops and a yeast blend of saison yeast, brettanomyces and lactobacillus. We ferment the beer in custom-made open oak barrel fermenters. After this rustic primary fermentation, the beer goes to other barrels for further aging and flavor development. The result is a citrusy, dry, tart and effervescent beer worthy of sharing.

Born from Brad and Gordon’s backyard test batches in Fort Collins, the Saison that sits before you has since evolved into a GABF gold-medal winning beer. This beer is heavily reliant on flavors and aromas generated by our house yeast that showcase our care in every aspect of the brewing process. Our flagship Saison pours with a beautiful orange hue and effervescence. Middle Flounder brother Daniel and cousin Billy are both huge fans of the belgian-esque families of beers, so creating our own Saison was something that was certainly going to be in the cards - and here is our first! This Saison is all about showing off the fantastic yeast strain while keeping a nice, smooth, drinkable Saison that we can use to introduce folks into a whole new family of beers! Saison Dupont

Brewed in one of Europe's last farmhouse breweries, in Hainaut province, Saison Dupont is a 4-star, world classic example of the Belgian Saisons style. This increasingly rare specialty originated before the age of refrigeration as a beer to be brewed in winter for summer drinking. The style required a beer sturdy enough to age in the bottle but refreshing enough to be enjoyed in warm weather. Saison Dupont fits this description perfectly. It has a big, fruity boquet, and dense head. The taste start fruity but ends dry and very clean with a light refreshing body.

Saison Rue

Saison Rue is an unfiltered, bottle conditioned, Belgian/French-style farmhouse ale. This is a beer of subtlety and complexity, with malted rye, spicy, fruity yeast notes, biscuit-like malt backbone, and a slight citrus hop character. With age, this beer will dry out and will become more complex with rustic notes of leather and earth from the contribution of a wild yeast strain. Being a Saison, Saison Rue is ambiguous unto itself as it is a different beer when fresh and when aged. We hope you enjoy it in all of its incarnations.

Saison Sauvin

Saisons have been around for ages. Traditionally brewed by Belgian and French farmers to provide refreshment during harvest. I'm guessing that flavour wasn't a main concern back then; the priority was to provide a beverage that was safe to drink, because water usually wasn't. Never the less, over time they developed a beverage chrarissed by beer geeks of the modern world. The alcohol content was low, so the workers could consume enough to keep hydrated and still perform their job: To load the barn with enough barley for next years brewing season. I bet these hardworking, humble farmers never imagined, that centuries later, their style of brewing would inspire brewers from all over the world. As all our beers, this is a very modern, you might say new world, interpretation of this style. Based on the tradition we have used a French Saison yeast, which provides a plethora of funky, earthy, very "Belgian" flavours. From there we have upped the ante a fair bit by doubling the amount of malt, and thereby the alcohol, and loaded the kettle with punchy Nelson Sauvin hops. Unlike the original, this is not a beer meant to be drunk by the gallon. Moderation is the key for full enjoyment of all great beers.

Sally Brown

Top fermented beer, a mix between Oatmeal Stouts and English Porters. Its character is defined by the 11 different types of malt aromas being used. Dark ebony, the nose is marked by roasted aromas recalling barley coffee, cacao beans and ash with a scent of caramel. It has a malty palate with creamy oats and hints of smoked flavor. “To the traveler who will never reach his destination, to all those who don’t need reassurance to feel right”. Although its recipe has dramatically changed with time, Sally Brown is the evolution of a type of Oatmeal Stout I used to homebrew. If A.F.O. is fully characterized by its hops, Sally Brown stands out for the use of 11 different types of malt including un-malted cereals such as oat flakes and roasted barley. Two years of investigation in the fascinating world of roasting resulted in the creation of a smooth, complex and balanced, drinkable beer. Its name comes from a Laurel Aitken’s song, one of Jamaica’s Ska forefathers, which was later covered by Bad Manners. In December of 2007, Bad Manner played a show in a venue close to Parma. I showed up during sound check to gift them a case of Sally Brown. They liked it so much they were drinking it on stage and while playing the song “Sally Brown” the lead singer said: “Sally Brown beer, the best!” .Those words filled me with incredible pride and satisfaction. That night was truly memorable.

Sally Brown Baracco

This beer is a variation of SALLY BROWN and a result of the collaboration with Torrefazione Baracco in Parma. The nose is notably marked by coffee aromas from the high elevations of the Equatorial regions. Fragrant malt roasts harmoniously mingle with coffee exotic aromas. The mouth has a velvety body with hints of caramel, cappuccino and smoked flavor. To all those crafts men like us who daily embody their passion by creating something unique. ABV. 5,2% 13°P I have always loved good coffee, particularly Arabica, because it evokes its long mastered roasting tradition in a few enduring sips. Conventional coffee on the other hand, is spoiled by the use of Robusta beans and the excessive over roasting. Meeting Alberto was definitely a stroke of good luck. We became friends and I ended up developing a deep appreciation for his coffee. Together we created a coffee blend that would match my beer’s aroma. Although this coffee-stout experiment started as a game, it turned out to be quite successful.

Samuel Adams Black Lager

Our brewers’ interpretation of a traditional German schwarzbier. When one sees a beer with a darker complexion these days, more often than not it’s a porter or a stout. But looks can be deceiving. There exists a style older than both and generally less well known; the schwarzbier, which literally translates to “Black Beer.” Unlike its dark cousins which are ales hailing from Britain, schwarzbier comes from Germany and uses a bottom fermenting lager yeast. Samuel Adams Black Lager is brewed in the tradition of the latter. A medium bodied beer brewed using several different roasts of malt to create a smooth body and depth of malt character that has to be tasted to be believed.

Samuel Adams Blackberry Witbier

Our take on a classic witbier brewed with Oregon Marion blackberries to give the beer a subtle sweetness. To create our version of the traditional witbier style, we wanted to complement the style’s natural wheat and traditional citrus flavors with the sweetness and tartness of blackberries. We looked for the perfect variety of blackberries that could offer the balance in flavor without becoming overpowering. The Oregon Marion blackberries were the perfect fit; selected from family farms located at the foot of the Oregon Trail and Cascade Mountains in Western Oregon, where they have been growing some of the best blackberries in the world for generations. The blackberries are brought together with a hint of traditional orange and coriander to complement the malt character and give a smooth finish that’s both sweet and tart.
