Fractured

This recipe was given its name as it was formulated and brewed while our head pub brewer was working with a fractured ankle. Fermented with our house Wit yeast, and liberally hopped (and dry-hopped) with American varieties. Its resultant aroma has clove spiciness from the yeast, with notes of lemon and cedarwood. A blend of seven malts and grains gives a full-bodied presence up front with hints of caramel, and the hop flavor rides out the palate. It finishes dry, with a medium hop bitterness.

And we think that’s just Frambulous. Literally. Known for a tart flavor profile and traditionally low ABV, our German-style wheat beer gains even more funky notes and natural earthy-woodiness from its fermentation in the large oak foeder vessel. Each installment in the series will feature a new fruit, or Frucht, if we’re Sprechen sie Deutsch. This installment has yumberries added, which is our first time flirting with this funky fruit. Stone Imperial Russian Stout is a thick, rich and sinful beer that’s heavy on the palate and massively aromatic with notes of anise, black currants, cof fee and roastiness. This profoundly complexed beer will overwhelm all but the most stalwart beer fanatics with its level of intensity. Rich coffee, bitter and milk chocolate characteristics abound, while dark charred oak, rich vanilla and caramel from the bourbon barrels synergistically elevate and further enhance the ultra-intense taste of the original beer.
