We’ve been making wheat beers since the summer of 1984. They’ve all been golden summer refreshers instead of dark winter warmers – until now. Anchor Winter Wheat is made with a unique blend of malted barley and five wheats from Belgium, Germany, the Midwest, and a family farm just 75 miles away, where we get our soft red winter wheat. Sown in November and harvested in June, it is used in artisanal flatbreads, cakes and pastries. In 1848, California farmers forsook their amber grain for golden fortune. By 1878, California wheat was back big-time, winning gold at the Paris International Exposition. There was a even a wheat beer brewery in North Beach, one mile from our first home. Today, the robust flavor, malty complexity, enticing aroma, ebony color, and thick creamy head of Anchor Winter Wheat reflect this delicious heritage. Cheers!

Blends a bit of Summer and Winter together to form a delightfully refreshing beer for the cold and dark months. A lightly spiced refreshing wheat ale that is brewed with hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, and bitter orange peel. English yeast lends a fruity nose and slightly dry finish.

A winter style wheat beer from deep dark Bavaria. This beer is highly carbonated & full of life & flavour. You will taste the malty toffee tones of the dark malts as well as cloves, banana & bubble gum esters from the yeast. This is the beer that started it all for the brewmaster!

Get ready for a winterized version of a classic Belgian Witbier (white beer). Legend Winter White starts with a blend of Belgian malts and wheat in the mash for a rich, sweet body and tangy crispness. Spicy hops blend in the boil with coriander and orange peel. During fermentation these flavors combine harmonically with a Belgian Trappist yeast strain (banana, pear bubblegum).

Winter Wünder is the perfect wassailing ale, brewed with a goodly amount of traditional holiday fare – plums, dates, cinnamon, allspice, clove, and a sprinkle of ginger all combine to lift your spirits and warm your demeanour… Winter Wünder is best enjoyed with the warmth of a good tavern, in the clutch of good friends new or old. Winter doesn’t seem so long after all.

Munich Dunkel is a culture-defining style that has been brewed for over five centuries. This traditional European dark lager is characterized by a striking dark color and a strong malt flavor. It is complemented by an elusive light mouthfeel which offers a clean crisp finish. This style pairs well with a hearty meal on a cold winter night.

This delicious dark winter beer is the ideal drink after a winter walk or skating. At each sip heating seems to go a little higher.

WinterBock is a strong, dark beer that was used by eleventh century Bavarian monks to help sustain themselves during winter fasts. These creamy bocks ensured that the monks would fast frequently. Gordon Biersch WinterBock is a classic dark double bock featuring 4 different types of malt: Munich malt, pilsner malt, dark roasted caramel malt, and black malt. This is a big beer with a lot of body, and is available seasonally from November through January.

Fruity nuances of lime and peach show up alongside a bold roasted coffee presence, which is interwoven with caramel inflections from the malt History & Style Winterbrewed Coffee-Amber is a collaborative creation with our friends at Ottawa’s Bridgehead Roastery, celebrating all that brewing great beer and great coffee have in common. Beau’s Winterbrewed was a Bronze-medal winner at the 2013 Canadian Brewing Awards. Tasting Notes Complimentary coffee and hop aromas reveal fruity nuances of lime and peach alongside a bold roasted coffee presence. Intense earthy, woody coffee flavours are interwoven with roasted caramel inflections from the malts. A balanced hop presence provides pleasant dryness in the finish.

Winterfest is a classic German-Style Lager with a clean malty start, slightly spicy hop note, and a crisp, dry finish.

Back East Winterfest is a deep chestnut-colored ale brewed with a touch of cinnamon and local honey. Its rich flavor and subtle spices make it a perfect choice for all of the seasons’ festivities.
