The refreshing wheat beers of Belgium are some of our favorite to drink. We’re planning on making a few different versions this summer, with the first being a traditional take on the style: coriander and orange peel. The coriander is a California grown variety that we picked up during the Craft Brewers Conference in San Diego.

With it's complex herbal aroma, golden cloudy color, orange-citrusy fruitiness, and spicy flavor, our belgian style wit beer is sure to satisfy. Contains wheat malt, spicy hops, orange peels, fresh coriander, and lemon zest. Best served at 58ºf in a tall pilsner glass with a slice of orange.

This refreshing Belgian-style wheat ale is a great lite summer drinking beer. Our wit is brewed with the finest two-row barley and malted wheat. A brewers hand full of Spanish orange peel and yellow coriander is used at the end of the boil to give this authentic Belgian-style wit its delicate citrus finish. A variation on the theme of the Belgian White style, our unfiltered wit is brewed with a touch of coriander and orange peel, orange blossom honey, and American style wheat yeast.

The Mu Wit has one thing that is not traditional in a Wit bier; it has cloves. The flavors of citrus and coriander blend themselves very well with the aroma added by clove. So, we went off the beaten path and made a Wheat style beer that won’t win medals as a Wit, but sure will make you thirsty for another.

Our Witbier is a very light sweetness balanced by a citrusy orange fruitiness and fairly crisp, refreshing finish. Very light straw colored beer.

With a recipe that dates back to the 14th Century, this is one of our most traditional beers. Our interpretation was inspired directly by Pierre Celis and his original efforts to resurrect this beloved style. This beer is an unfiltered Witbier or “White Beer” to the Flemish-speaking Belgians because of its opaque, white appearance. It measures 4.4% ABV and is a wonderfully refreshing, easy drinking beer enjoyed throughout the year. Its grain bill includes nearly 50% unmalted wheat and oats while it is very lightly spiced with Coriander, Orange Peel, and a touch of other unique flavors. The yeast in this recipe was cultured from the original strain near the town of Hoegaarden in Belgium and adds a pleasant fruitiness during fermentation. Enjoy this beer with or without an orange slice. Although the beer connoisseur might frown at you, we won’t judge you if you ask for one.

Our Witbier is a lightly colored pale ale that has a cloudy appearance due to the high level of wheat we use. Spiced with fresh summer flavors this beer is light, refreshing and excellent any time of day. This Belgian Style ale is sometimes served with a slice of lemon, but if you want to experience the full flavor and body of this beer, you will want to avoid using one.
