This winter wheat beer uses dark malting to provide subtle toasty notes. We then single-hop and dry-hop this beer with Citra hops from our friend Brad’s farm. his fine holiday brew was awarded Gold Medals in 1997 and 1998 by the World Beer Championships, and was named their 1998 World Champion Winter Ale. From the first sip of Winter Solstice Seasonal Ale, your senses will be aroused with the vision of a glowing fire, warming the hearth and home, as gently drifting snow flakes silently blanket the trees outside. Each lingering sip will gently warm your soul with thoughts of family and friends, gathering around the table for the feast. Luscious, creamy, smooth, and warming, this medium bodied ale is brewed with Caramel and crystal malts to give it just a hint of sweetness, then paired with our private blend of holiday spice. Winter Solstice Ale is great alone or as an accompaniment to any meal, and it has been known to liven and spice up nearly any social event. This coveted and much sought-after brew is released in November, just in time for the holidays, and by the first of the New Year will be only a fond memory. As with all of our products, Winter Solstice Seasonal Ale is never sterile filtered nor heat pasteurized, and should be stored in refrigeration. However, to fully enjoy its rich and complex flavor, it should be served between 40° and 45°F.

Winter Storm may be Hugh’s favorite beer in the Heavy Seas catalogue. Our winter ale draws on hops from the West Coast and the UK for its pronounced bitterness. A mix of pale and darker malts give it its tawny color and its bigger body. True to the style, Winter Storm’s aroma is nutty malts and earthy hops. This is a perfect fall beer, especially because of its warming qualities.

An aromatic blend of chocolate and roast malts truly enhances this Stout. Our Stout is a solid, satisfying beer with a rich black over ruby hue, creamy tan head, coupled with an underlying espresso finish. There is no coffee in this stout , but you sure taste the "Best of Both Worlds". 5.6%abv. Silver Medal Winner at the 2009 and Bronze at the 2010 Carolina Championship of Beer.

Available in December Winter Warlock was made in the tradition of some of England's great barley-wine ales. Our beer is made with delicious base malt and sugar. We boiled for over two hours to caramelize some of the sugars. The final product is as smooth as freshly resurfaced ice with a subtle hop character. This beer pairs nicely with calamari, ham and quail. Enjoy this beer with someone special on a cold winter's night. Get cozy by a roaring fire, and take time to reflect on how each beer is as unique as a snowflake.

Winter Warmer is the first specialty beer ever brewed at SanTan Brewing! Our annual Winter Warmer ale is based on a traditional English Old Ale recipe and then spiced with 10 lbs of fresh ginger from Lee Lee Market. Generous amounts of caramel and roasted malts are added to give Winter Warmer a deep ruby brown hue. The malt is backed by 10 gallons of Arizona orange blossom honey that lends a slightly sweet taste to the big malt flavor with a sting of ginger. Served with our house made ginger snap cookies. Preferred by Santa over a glass of milk!
