Winding Road ESB

Classic ESB. Sessionable but flavorful. Malty, mellow, and well balanced with a dry toasted complexity. Water mineral content mimics Burton on Trent. Brewed with floor malted Maris Otter, Crystal malts, and Biscuit malts for a solid base. Balanced with Northern Brewer and East Kent Golding hops. UK style ESB all the way.

Windjammer IPA

Windjammer IPA pours a hop-hazed golden copper with a tight, persistent off-white head. Aromas of fresh lychee, candied orange and dried mango are propelled from the glass on a bed of resinous pine needles. The dry, caramel malt hinted of on the nose steps forward to balance the abundant late kettle and fresh dry-hop character that are this beer’s signature. The subtly sweet malt flavours are punctuated by a firm bitterness that lingers with a pleasant persistence for a time that belies this beers relatively humble ABV. A drink that impresses both with its bold immediacy and a lasting impression of utter commitment to balance and drink-ability on behalf of the brewer.

Windlass

Our fall seasonal is made with 50 pounds of baked & pureed sweet potatoes per barrel. Early versions of this beer poured like tomato soup because of all the rich creamy spuds. This beer starts off as a dry, robust porter then we load up the sweet potato after fermentation finishes to give you a yam-a-licious flavor.

Window Licker Barley Wine

Barley Wine is a strong ale originating in the later 18th century in response to aristocrats’ desire for strong beverage after conflict between the French and English halted the import of wines. Barley Wines were often produced on estate breweries by the rich for special occasions such as the birth of a first born son and weren’t commercially available until Bass out of Burton-upon-Trent produced Bass no. 1 in 1870. Ours come with huge dark cherry notes, toffee, caramel, raisins, figs, and mellowed alcohol making this monster smell like something you might pour over cheesecake (highly recommended!). Aged six months before its release, so whether you are feeling aristocratic, knocked-up, or just feel liking getting f@#ed up, drink a few and you might end up licking windows.

Window Maker IPA

West Coast IPA. Indian Pale Ales were traditionally high in hops to preserve them for their long sea voyage from England to India. Today self-proclaimed hopheads search out American-style IPA’s for their intense hop flavor, pale amber color and strong bitterness.

Windowsill

Evan Kleiman, host of KCRW's Good Food, was inspired to collaborate with Patrick Rue and The Bruery after enjoying a homemade Rhubarb Raspberry Pie. The rhubarb's fruity sourness tempered with the sweetness of the fresh raspberries and the wheat crust, begged to be bottled up in the form of a bubbly beer. Keeping the original pie recipe in mind, specialty grains were chosen to mimic the crust, and rhubarb and raspberries were used in varying stages of the brewing and fermentation process. The resulting beer is reminiscent of a fresh country pie, cooling on a farmhouse windowsill.

Wine Yeast Wheat #1

Sixpoint’s Chris Kavanaugh’s first experiment with Red Hook Winery yeast: a simple wheat beer with low bitterness fermented with a sample of wild yeast culture provided by the Red Hook Winery. An aggressively hopped and dangerously drinkable Imperial IPA. Liberal amounts of Chinook and Simcoe hops are the basis for a sticky, dank, piney, and resinous hop-bomb. Winter 2012 Winter Wit

ur second “Farm to Bottle” offering is a beer brewed in the classic Belgian Wit style. Also called a “white” beer, these wheat ales are very food friendly, balancing a rich velvety mouthfeel with an earthy Belgian-yeast character. Ours is brewed with 600 pounds of juicy winter oranges from Hamada Farm in Kingsburg, California. Working with Cliff Hamada, the third generation owner-operator of the farm, we put together a blend of early season blood oranges, tart pink-fleshed cara cara oranges and sweet aromatic navel oranges. Finally the beer is finished with a touch of fresh ginger root – from Morgan Hill’s Mellow Nursery – for a hint of tangy spice. Our Winter Wit was designed from the ground up to be food friendly, balancing an earthy wit-yeast character with fruity acidity and orange zest to create a refreshing yet warming sipper that pairs perfectly with our mild California winters.
