Dunkel means dark, and this Southern German wheat beer has the mahogany brown to copper color that paints the canvas of autumn. Our Dunkelweizen comes in at 7% ABV with a flavor and mouthfeel that make it seem much less. The sweet malt backbone shines above the 18 IBU and pairs with the beautiful Hefeweizen phenols which give this brew a nice banana/clove aroma and flavor. The Dunkel dances with your peduncle neurons sending sensory memories of banana bread cooking on a cool September day, giving you a medium clean body mouthfeel with a dry finish, leaving you wanting more. Crisp, clean and quenching. That is what makes Helles the everyday drinking beer of Munich. Wort Hog Brewing’s Rye Not? is our take on the traditional Helles style. We use only the finest Pilsner and Munich malts as well as Tettnang and Hallertauer Tradition, noble German hops. How could we possibly make this beer more drinkable? Could we use a bit of rye in the mash to give it a distinct zip and quaffability? To that question, we exclaimed, “Rye Not?” Rye Not? is a lager so we employ a special yeast strain that has a cool fermentation temperature. Lagers condition about 5 times longer in tank than ales, which can be incredibly taxing on a young brewery. But it’s this extra tank time that gives our rye Helles a signature easy drinking, crisp, clean finish. Wort Hog Brewing’s Rye Not? An exceptional beer for every season! Prosit!

Our IPA has a crisp,floral citrus taste with a bitter finish. We use three different base malts including Montana grown malted barley along with three hop additions of Chinook, Cascade, and Citra. We end by dry hopping with an abundant amount of Citra and Cascade.
