Our interpretation of a West Coast IPA is golden, medium-bodied ale that is very hop forward. The use of Cascade, Chinook, Columbus, Centennial and Crystal hops makes this beer a hophead's dream.
This American Pale Ale finished w. local Thai & Globe basil is the perfect pizza brew. With big spicy floral hop flavors and aromatics of a good pale ale mixed with the soft herbal note from the basil which brings the beer all together. Beer, garlic notes and Basil…..Pizza All the way!
This massively hopped IPA was made with five delicious Varieties of hops. Columbus, Amarillo, Simcoe, Chinook, and Citra at a hopping rate of 2.3 pounds per barrel!! Piney, citrusy and fruity with sweet malt background.
5 Golden Rings is the 5th verse in our '12 Days of Christmas' winter seasonal ale series. The only golden ale in the bunch, we spiced up the natural pause in the classic song with cinnamon, allspice and ginger along with the delicious sweet and tangy flavor of pineapple. The barrel aged edition has taken on notable flavors from the time spent in oak, adding a level of burnt wood, sweet boubron and under-ripe fruit.
This Special beer brings together a subtle smokiness and a sweet malt profile to create easy drinking stout.
How easy drinking? Easy like scoring on a goalie's 5 hole eh.
5 O’Clock Shadow Double Black Lager is brewed in the German Schwarzbier (black beer) tradition. Schwarzbier is to lager what stout or porter is to ale. Like those dark British beers, Schwarzbier has long been considered nourishing and even curative. German doctors often recommend Schwarzbier for nursing mothers. Our Brewmaster, born in Munich, was the beneficiary of just such advice.
We have taken the traditional Schwarzbier, intended to be a “session beer” with typically moderate alcohol, and almost doubled its strength to 7.6% alcohol by volume. We brewed our version with a fine balance of crystal and roasted malts and spiced it with noble hops. We fermented 5 O’Clock Shadow at cold temperatures with a select German lager yeast and cold-conditioned it for over four months to create a velvety smooth wintertime warmer.
This German lager pours a deep brown, almost black color with ruby highlights. It has soft dark chocolate notes with hints of caramel and a light roasty finish.
This is a traditional English style ale brewed with four malts and four hops. The complex malt character and deep copper color balances with the mild English hops delivering a smooth finish. Alcohol runs about 5% and the carbonation is relatively low. Enjoy a few! Cheers!
Kind of like our Münchner, only BIGGER! This full bodied, malty, mellow amber lager is brewed only once a year, to celebrate the Oktoberfest. Munich & Pilsen malts make this beer big and smooth, while German CaraMunich malt gives it a rich amber hue. This style is also known as Märzenbier and Weis’n Bier. Best enjoyed in a one liter Mass with three fingers of foamy head!
..it is hard to believe we have been brewing beer for 5 years. So to commemorate this event we have brewed a new beer with 5 different malts and hops. Deep, dark and very hoppy this beer is packed with the flavors of roasted malts and American grown hops. 10% abv
OBC's new spring release, the 5.56 India Pale Lager, pours with a brilliantly transparent clarity and is dry-hopped with all-American hops; Cascade, Mosaic, and Citra. The crisp mouthfeel combined with robust piney, citrus, and grapefruit aromas make for a sessionable spring lager you'll surely enjoy.
5/5 Pepper Beer –A nice pale ale provides the platform to showcase the Jalapeno and Serrano peppers used in this spicy Cinco de Mayo brew. Aromas and flavors abound, without the extreme heat.
O.G: 1.056 ABV: 6.0% IBU:30
Celebrating 50 years of brewing in the ancient brewery at Traquair, Scotland’s Oldest Inhabited House. A limited edition ale (20,000 bottles only) packaged in a specially designed bottle. This is not a beer to be taken lightly but promises to be a smooth dark and well balanced ale.
An American style India Pale Ale. This medium bodied, light bronze hued brew has an aggressive hop character and flavor from the use of American hops in dry hopping. Our interpretation comes in at 13.0 degrees plato with IBU’s in the mid 40’s. The American hop varietals used as Kettle additions were Amarillo and Chinook and this was dry hopped with Chinook as well.
A collaberative brew with 50 West Brewing Company. A toasty, dark blonde ale flavored with locally grown Ohio Paw Paw Fruit. Brewed with a malt blend of maris otter, carmel crystal 20L, victory, and cara-pils along with a hop blend of warrior, goldings and willamette.
There are few beers out there that are both so simple yet so delicate as a light lager. We used NYS Malted Barley for this to show our love for and the quality of NYS growers and maltsters. This light, refreshing beer is meant to be drank out on a boat, in the sun, on the beach, or on the porch. Enjoy the outdoors with friends and family for this one.
A wise man once said, “No good story starts with someone eating a salad.” Although we will categorically deny the validity of any such story that may have stared with our 50 Shades of Gold, we can say that the whopping 9.2%abv is shrouded in a cloud of mystery and intrigue… by which of course we mean a complex nose of fruity esters and moderately low spiciness and hop aroma.
Aroma is a blend of tropical fruit (pineapple) and citrus with lighter notes of melon, grape, and papaya. Flavor starts off with a juicy sweetness and finishes bitter and crisp. Medium-Light Body.
Our oldest recipes with roots in our very first homebrew over a decade ago. Time has helped "age" this recipe utilizing 7 grains to make a beer balanced with good malt and hop character. The 503 you ask? The length in miles the Wabash river runs from its headwaters near Fort Recovery to its outflow in the Ohio River.
This is the recipe that won a Bronze Medal at the 2010 World Beer Cup. Great balance of flavor, with notes of coffee and chocolate and goes down smooth.
Belgian inspired, our version of a traditional Trippel, but with a little more caramel malt, little spice, peppery, little orange, with slight touches of banana. Fruity and alcohol flavors supported by a soft malt character
Malty, toffee with fruity hop aroma, a citrusy, resinous, piney, caramel, nutty. Medium to full, almost chewy body, Alcohol warmth is evident and welcome
Pleasant sweetness, honey, vanilla, zesty orange, citrus fruit, refreshingly crisp with dry tart finish, light creaminess from unmalted wheat and a touch of oats
Belgian-Style White (or Wit) / Belgian-Style Wheat
