If you've had a chance to sit down and sample a coffee at Cafe du Monde in New Orleans, you may be familiar with Chicory. You're probably not familiar with the Chicory IPA. The marriage of Acadian coffee (from BJava) and big American hops. No time like the present - FLAT TUESDAY at Flat 12. *Chicory is the root of the endive plant. The root of the plant is roasted and ground. It is added to the coffee to soften the bitter edge of the dark roasted coffee. It adds an almost chocolate flavor to the Cafe Au Lait served at Cafe Du Monde. *(CdM)

An Imperial Coffee Porter barrel aged 8 months in pinot noir barrels from the California Central Coast then cold infused with a blend of locally roasted coffee, hand selected by Tap It’s brewing team that was added just before bottling for the freshest of coffee flavors. We fermented this whack job of a beer at a slightly higher temperature to lend the warmth and mouth feel of a Hot Toddy. With the seasonal temperature changes of the 8 months of barrel aging, we believe this imperial porter gained the nuances of an Old Ale in some of its malt character and body.

This is our Coffeehouse Stout amped up to 8% abv and aged for a couple of months in Virginia Gentleman Reserve Bourbon Barrels. Another unique AleWerks beer which blends the rich, coffee-milk stout flavors with those of vanilla and bourbon

This monster weighs in at a hefty 6.5% alc/vol, 65 IBUs and uses 4 different hop varieties, in whole leaf and pellet in 6 different additions. We use a healthy dose of Caramunich malt to give this beer a bright orange color and enough body to balance the hops. We use cutting edge hop varieties to create a crazy mix of pineapple, grapefruit and pine aromas that just screams American IPA. This awesome ale pairs well with other strong flavors such as aged natural cheeses, spicy sushi, curry, etc. Truly an IPA that sets a new standard for brewers and beer lovers on both coasts Cheers.

Vanilla Cream Ale

Calamity Jane was known for being a legendary shot. She had a wild side but was also known to be compassionate and kind. She loved her beer. We brewed a Wild Blond ale in her honor. The brew is hopped up slightly which differs from a typical blonde style. How could we brew a Calamity Jane that would be typical?

Not for the hopophobic! This medium-bodied, slightly citrusy golden ale is miles apart from its Canadian cousin. It gets its big hoppy punch from our generous use of Columbus hops. Bronze medal winner at the 2005 LA County Fair
