This beer is brewed using spelt instead of barley. Spelt is traditionally harvested in the Duchess Mountains Regional Park. Duchessa has a golden colour with orange hues, and it is slightly hazy with a plentyful and creamy foam. It has a wide nose, fruity (banana, pineapple, tropical fruit) and floreal, with a light and pleasant peppery flavor. Carbonation is elegant, with a little sharpness and an appropriate body. It is moderately hoppy, with a pleasant and refreshing finish.

Duchesse de Bourgogne from Brouwerij Verhaeghe is the traditional Flemish red ale. This refreshing ale is matured in oak casks; smooth with a rich texture and interplay of passion fruit, and chocolate, and a long, dry and acidic finish. After the first and secondary fermentation, the beer goes for maturation into the oak barrels for 18 months. The final product is a blend of younger 8 months old beer with 18 months old beer. The average age of the Duchesse de Bourgogne before being bottled is 12 months.

A sort of “collaboration brew” with the famous Belgian brewery Brasserie Cantillon: an interesting experiment about spontaneous fermentations. Our traditional Duchessa - spelt beer - has been cut with a 20% of one year old lambic from Brasserie Cantillon. The result is a unique beer that extraordinarily merges the lambic sharp and sour characteristics with the gentle notes of Duchessa. A real gem not to be missed, as the former version’s great success confirms. Try it with different kinds of cheese, especially with blue cheese.

In Belgian brewing there are fantastic wild ales brewed with naturally occurring yeast. These beers develop over time and are ready on their own terms. Duck Duck Gooze is our homage to these effervescent and wonderfully complex sparkling beers. A blend of young and old barrel aged beers, this has been one of our most sought after beers year after year since it’s original release in 2009. Alas, it is released in very small quantities only once every three years, so it’s extremely difficult to come by beyond the day we release it. It does, however, turn up on our Tasting Room’s Vintage List from time to time, so don’t despair.

Duck IPA is a part of our Dodgeball Single Hop Series. This Northeastern style India Pale Ale was brewed with 100% Hellertau Blanc hops, hand selected by our Assistant Brewer Maria.

The Duck-Rabbit Brown Ale is an American brown ale brewed with loads of hops from start to finish (it’s hoppy and beautifully bitter). Amarillo hops in the boil provide a spicy citrusy bitterness. Saaz dry hops in the fermentor provide a refined flowery aroma. These hops are supported by a grain bill of seven varieties of malt. Oh yeah!

Pours a brilliant auburn color with a lacy head. Aromas of clean biscuit and toffee. Sweet toasted caramel flavors with rich toffee and essences of red apple and noble hops carrying to the finish.

This is a traditional German style dark lager beer. Flavors of chocolate or coffee are common, but usually subtle. Just because the beer is dark, doesn’t mean that the flavors are. Expect the beer to be opaque and black, as the name would imply.

A NW Style Brown Ale Brewed with caramel and chocolate malt for a rich brown color and a nutty, toffee character. Northwest Columbus hops add a distinctive floral finish.

A West Coast Style pale ale, dry hopped with Citra, Galaxy and Centennial. A drinkable go-to beer for those who crave hops.

A light English-Style ale that showcases Maris Otter malt, Bramling Cross hops, and English ale yeast. Only the water is not imported.

The aroma you get from the Pacific North West hops only tell half the story of what you're about to experience in this red India pale ale. If you like Irish reds and lots of hop flavor and aroma, this is the beer for you. Interesting Fact: This beer was originally called our "Red Hoptober" and debuted in the fall at the 2011 Ft. Pierce Beer Fest. It was going to be a seasonal offering, but the response was so favorable, we decided to make it available all year. It was renamed after learning New Belgium Brewery was changing the name of their Hoptober to the Red Hoptober in 2012. We decided a new name, less specific to the season, was a good idea anyway.

A complex grain bill gives this sessionable brown ale its roasty notes and spiciness. While we use many different grains and an adjusted water profile to brew this beer, only a single hop is used. Make sure to add it to your sampler, you'll be glad you did. Interesting Fact: Malts used determine the color of a beer. The color of a beer does not indicate how strong (high in alcohol) it is however, it does give you an indication of flavor. Darker grains used in browns, porters, and stouts will create malty, roasty, chocolate, and caramel flavors. If you're curious about the alcohol content, look at the ABV, not the color.

Lupulin Rapture Incarnate! As fervent devotees of hops, we found ourselves on a quest to create a transcendental IPA capable of quenching our voracious lupulin desires. Our mantra became “unity of bitterness, hop flavor and aroma.” Enlightened, duganA IPA was born: A brutally bitter, dank, piney and resinous ale designed for those seeking a divine hop experience.

There is no description for this hopped up Amber. This is what happens when your brewers drink on the job. Duke represents a rotating beer name for beers that don’t fit in any specific style or category.

Duke City Lager is an assertively hopped brew, based on an American original called the California Common Lager or Steam-Style Beer. Cool fermentation temperature and prolonged aging deliver a clean and refreshing beer, with a strong hop presence. This beer is loaded up with two American classics, Cascade and Willamette, resulting in a thirst quenching lager that delivers a combination of woody, fruity, and flowery hop flavors and aromas.
