The hottest new beer styles is the India Black Ale, Black IPA, Cascadian Dark Ale, or whatever cool name people are coming up with these days. When the hop harvest was coming in this year, the brewers at Black Diamond wanted to experiment with this new beer style. the hops for this beer were obtained from a farm in Clear Lake, CA and grown organically. They were picked on Saturday and Sunday and the beer was produced on Monday. Talk about straight from the field. the beer itself pours dark brown with ruby highlights. Grassy Flavors from the undried hops blend with subtle roastiness and richness from de-bittered black and chocolate malts. The beer lingers with some fruit and caramel flavors on the palate but finishes dry and hoppy.

Decent 16 oz IPA from F-town. The 110 IBU was more balanced than I thought it would be. Thought it was a little lacking in hop nose character.

This full-bodied traditional English-style ale is brewed with a high gravity and extra hops, which originally helped to preserve the beer on long voyages from England to India.

This is made with 2-row brewers malt and barley. Heavier hopping with Liberty hops from Washington and East Kent Goldings. The wonderful bitterness of a cold, pale ale.

A pop of tropical hop flavors up front and carrying throughout the palate with tangerine, apricot and stone fruit notes. A pleasant malt backbone is present. The malts are not prominent, just enough to counter the alcohol and bitterness of the hops in the mid-palate. This IPA finishes with a long lingering, but crisp and clean bitterness with a touch of citrus.

Ale, wheat and crystal malts upfront and Citra and Galaxy hops bring it all home.

Nova Scotia’s most popular beer, Alexander Keith’s India Pale Ale is fully fermented, mellow-aged for smoothness and uses balanced North American flavour and bittering hops to create a unique, malty flavour. Alexander Keith’s India Pale Ale is smooth with a slightly floral hop character and a sweet flavour delivery.

India Pale Ale is brewed to a lower original gravity and this beer undergoes a similar process of maturation to the Blue Label. The result is a lighter, more mellow ale with a distinctive hoppy character. Tasting notes: A fragrant hop character, derived from a blend of Fuggle and Progress hops, gives this award winning ale a full but delicate bitterness.

Medium orange-amber with a dissipating head and light lacing present sweet citrus mid-palate with a lingering, dry finish. Sandi’s signature: Intentionally crafted to be maltier, with a slightly heavier body to reflect the changing seasons.

The newest addition to our line up is based on a traditional IPA recipe. Its golden colour and smooth flavour are its key characteristics and it works equally well as an accompaniment to spicy food or a good steak or it can be savoured as a great pint of beer. Our IPA is available in 9 gallon firkins as well as 11 and 6.6 gallon kegs.
