Steak Cake Stout

Surprisingly smooth and easy to drink with little bitterness. Balanced with roasted flavors, hops and malt. Pours a brown, creamy head that stays throughout the drink. Mildly carbonated, lending to the smoothness. The Story: SteakCake Stout is our base stout that can be enjoyed with a variety of foods. There is a battle in our family that lead to the name. Larry, the sweet tooth, prefers to pair this beer with a sweet treat. While, Cheryl, the carnivore, insists that is pairs best with a big, juicy porterhouse steak. We are confident that you will like this stout, so try it with both and decide for yourself!

Steamboat Common

"Steamboat Common" is a play on the words "Steamboat Comin' " and is a collaboration between Great Crescent Brewery and New Albanian Brewing Company. Steamboat Common was created to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the first steamboat trip on "Western Waters" back in 1811. Steamboat Common is based on recipes that would have been typical for the 1811 timeframe and is best described as a lightly smoked brown ale. The addition of molassis and sorghum give this beer a slight haze and the flavors come through in the finish.

SteamPumpkin

SteamPumpkin Pumpkin Spiced Ale- The SteamPumpkin Ale is the perfect way to switch gears into fall, with this special seasonal beer. Forget smashing pumpkins- we use them during our mash instead. With over 200lbs of 100% real pumpkin, the result is no trick and all treat…bottled pumpkin pie! There are even traditional holiday spices added of nutmeg, clove and cinnamon, but don’t mistake it for your Granny’s homemade recipe- we threw in a secret ingredient to give it that extra Rocket Republic kick! Hmmm…perhaps we should have called it Steampump-kickin’ Ale. But don’t worry- with an ABV of only 6.3%, you can have one for dessert and one with dessert. And maybe another one after. I know what I’m thankful for this season!

Stearns Stout

Stearns Wharf was built by and named for local lumberman John P. Stearns. Black beers were originally the favorite of dockworkers and porters, so for John's namesake we brewed this rich Irish-style dry stout. Traditionally roasty and coffee-like without overpowering bitterness or astringency and full-bodied despite its low alcohol content.

Steel Wheels E.S.B.

The music of The Steel Wheels and the beer from Blue Mountain are both original and handcrafted, with inspired Americana flavors from the heart of Virginia. Our collaboration E.S.B. draws from the past with British crystal malts and Scottish yeast, but uses American hops to put our own stamp on the creation. Like this beer, The Steel Wheels draw you in from the first sip … not because their music is loud or in your face, but because it's surprising and original, and because its inspirations – a story, a character, a memory – have been brewed with just the right ingredients. Take time to drink slowly and listen truly. Wherever you are, get ready to sing along, to harmonize. Maybe even get up and dance.
