Weizenbock

This traditional German wheat beer is stronger and darker in color than its Hefeweizen counterpart. With a focus on the malt, you taste the silky texture of wheat with the subtle banana and clove tones of the yeast. With a higher alcohol content than the Hefeweizen, we balanced the flavors with a hint of hops and caramel malts. Although this beer is enjoyed year round, it was traditionally a cool-weather beer. Served in 16oz pours in a traditional wheat beer glass, the substantial and lingering head allows the aroma of the malt and yeast to show.

Weizenbock

Rich, brown-amber in color and very hazy, due to yeast in suspension, our Weizenbock is a tradiitonal German-inspired strong wheat ale (not to be confused with other bock beers, which are lagers; in this case bock simply refers to the beer’s strength). The aroma is melanoidin-like, similar to the crust of freshly-baked bread, with slight notes of vanilla and clove-like esters contributed by the yeast. A medium mouthfeel, thanks to its unfiltered nature, delivers flavors of wheat bread with a hint of caramel, vanilla, and banana-clove. Warming, but deceptively drinkable despite its high ABV.

WeizenTea

The WeizenTea is an 'ecumenical' beer that unites three different continents through European malts, American hops and Chinese tea. Although the recipe includes both malted wheat and barley and a traditional bavarian weizen yeast strain, it's an atypical weizen it's use of American hops as well as a particularly herbal and refined Chinese green tea added at the end of the boil. The WeizenTea is 4.5% alcohol by volume and is very drinkable and thirst-quenching. It's initial aroma is that of a classic german hefeweizen (banana, cloves, etc), then come forward both herbal and citrus elements that denote a pleasant freshness. On the palate there are these same flavors as the aroma, but with a finish that is less dry and smoother than a classic weizen from the use of the green tea and more characteristic hops than the noble german varieties. The beer is yellow with a light green hue and gently opaque with a full and abundant head that is fine and persistent.
