An Imperial Stout to be reckoned with, Vlad the Impaler is a coal-black, high-gravity, high-alcohol ale with tremendous, complex flavours and aromas that hint at caramel, coffee, roasted nuts and a perhaps a wee bit of smoke with a monster mouthfeel and a warming finish.

The reason we love brewing with our friends is that we have the opportunity to share experiences to create new, exciting ones. Birra Vintastica La Rossa was brewed with our pal Robert Kunz, ex-VP of Brewing Operations, Dipl. Brewer at Sleeping Giant Brewing Company in Denver, CO. Robert is a lover of adventure and of exploring every what-if he comes across. When he asked us to brew a beer with him, we asked a big what-if that drew from our collective experience at other breweries to create a beautiful beer/wine hybrid of exquisite character. The beer half is a blend of American barley, wheat and rye malts flavored with earthy, floral Willamette hops and fruity, herbal Glacier hops. This was blended in the fermenter with California Syrah must and fermented with a unique blend of cultured ale yeast and wild, native Colorado yeast to produce a singular spicy, off-dry drinking experience. Gentle tannin from aging on French oak round out Birra Vintastica to deliver sophistication and class with each sip. Here at The Post Brewing Company we love our friends. Even more, we love making stuff with our friends. For our inaugural “Brewing With Friends” beer, Bryan asked his dear old friend Sam Calagione, founder and president of Dogfish Head in Delaware, to brew with him. During a top secret man-date, over a few cocktails, the idea for Bulky Oxen was hatched. The name Bulky Oxen was inspired by Babe the Big Blue Ox of the Paul Bunyan fable, woven into the Dogfish Head ethos from the beginning. It seemed fitting as Babe was always the trusty companion to Paul Bunyan, and Sam and Bryan have had a similar relationship in that they’ve helped each other along, hauling logs and clearing paths. Bulky Oxen is a beer inspired by food and one dish in particular; The Post’s wood-fired pork shoulder with its glorious caramelized onion marmalade. Bryan has been known to think about this dish at least three times a day and all he thinks about while eating it is the next time he’s going to eat it. It’s life changing. Using this dish as a launching point, they needed to decide what aspects of the food would best translate into a great beer. They focused on caramelization, smoke and luscious flavors. Bulky Oxen has become a deep mahogany English-style barleywine of a modest ABV. It features rich, lush malt flavors balanced by tropical American hops and citrus peel. Added during the boil was a house-made marmalade of caramelized, Sucanat sugar crusted citrus and sweet onion which offers sweet, savory aromas of orange, spice and smoke. This strong ale is the perfect partner for a hearty meal of pork or beef and is equally at home as a nightcap on a cool spring evening near the fire. Enjoy! A dirty brown ale brewed with oats, wheat, brown sugar, honey, sunflower/flax/chia seeds, hemp hearts, raisins, and mixed berries.

Crystal clear, rich mahogany in color sitting under a white cap of foam, Elkhorn Lager invites you in for a whiff and a sip of deep, toasty malt flavor and aroma accented by herbal, spicy hop notes. This traditional American lager is brewed from 2-row barley malt, dark crystal malt, chocolate malt and flaked maize building a complex malt base that is easy to get into and fits like a glove. Elkhorn Lager is spiced with a generous portion of Sterling hops delivering peppery, floral sensations. Long, cold aging makes for wicked smooth drinkability making this lager the official lager of drinking.

This classically inspired malt liquor is brewed from the finest American 2-row barley malt and flaked maize. We’ve used some aggressive, modern hopping techniques to impart a singular intensity of hop character which showcases the Pekko variety rich in grapefruit, pineapple, mint and sage aroma and flavor. This beer can get down with chicken cheesesteaks (with fried onions, mushrooms, salt, ketchup and buttload of black pepper), fried chicken, french fries, fish fry and/or hanging out drinking telling lies (or perhaps alternative truths). Built on an 19.2°Plato all-malt base from just Montana grown 2-row barley malt and a touch of chocolate malt, we stuff this bad boy with a criminally inefficient amount of Pekko and Azzaca hops all the way from the kettle to dry-hopping in the fermenter. Better blow by that weigh station, big trucker! Rooster Cruiser let’s you know it’s coming delivering a blast of deep tropical and herbal hop aroma supported by a whiff of ale-fruit and malt. Grapefruit, pine and mango fill your mouth leading to a rich bittersweet finish that arrives right on time. Be sure to enjoy a little Rooster Cruiser a lot!

Summer Teath is a 4.1% ABV summer IPA brewed with American 2-row barley malt, red wheat malt and light crystal malt and fermented with our house ale yeast. It’s well hopped in the kettle and in the fermenter with a blend of two dwarf hop varieties called Azacca and Pekko which offer intense tropical, citrus and herbal aromas. This is complimented by a kettle addition of Sunny Green Tea from Boulder’s Pekoe Sip House. This is a tea blend that features dried papaya and pineapple whose aromas shine through along with the hops while the tea delivers an herbal flavor and gently astringent mouthfeel which evokes the sensation of sipping on iced tea. It’s dry, light bodied and utterly refreshing.

It's a dry and refreshing pale ale full of juicy wet hop character. The Eukanot hops contribute aromas of tropical fruits & pine and flavors of citrus, papaya, & melon.

An Earnest take on the original English beer that was brewed for the hard working porters. This porter is quaffable yet full of flavor.

A dry, English-style pub cider. It has a light golden colour with a lively effervescence in the glass. It has a distinctive, earthy apple aroma with a full-bodied mouth feel and subtle astringency from the blend of apple varietals in each batch.

This Belgian-style Wit is carefully crafted to be both complex and refreshing. The delicate, floral aromas created during fermentation are further accentuated by subtle blends of citrus peel and the finest Indian coriander. MALT: Wheat, Pale HOPS: Magnum SPICES: Orange Peel, Coriander A true representation of the wonders a few local ingredients can do for a beer’s character. Instead of the raw wheat typically used by Belgian brewers, we use Indian Rolled wheat and complement it with fresh coriander seeds from the Himalayas.
