Smoked Porter

Is there a connection between Belgian-style brewing and porter, a traditional British-style beer? We think the aroma and flavor notes of chocolate malt along with caramelized sugar are reminiscent of many things Belgian and of all things good. Other qualities we brought to this fine beer include smoked malt, a touch of Saaz hops, a deep Brown Hue and a creamy tan head, a medium body with a well-rounded finish with lingering impressions of smoke and caramel.

Ten Paces Huckleberry Wild Ale

Ten paces is our tribute to the American West and all the things that make it wild. This beer harkens back to the days when Doc Holliday was gunslinging in the mountains near Leadville, Colorado. Drawing on the natural tartness of the huckleberries, this American-Style Wild Ale features a unique blend of yeast strains that produce a complex aroma of tropical fruit and clove like spiciness while accentuating the deep fruit flavors. The question is, will you be our huckleberry?

The Contender

Our West Coast-style IPA is both light and refreshing and big on flavor and aroma. Coming in at 6.5%, we rounded the body with Caramelized malts to balance out the bitterness from our kettle hops. Once fermentation is complete we blast it with a generous amount of Simcoe hops (in the dry hop) to give it a combination of citrus and pine aroma and flavor. A very drinkable beer brewed to the West Coast-style of India Pale Ales.

East meets west in this floral, fruity, citrusy bundle of drinkable joy. A muted bitterness to the finish is unmistakably IPA, but the delicate manner in which it is delivered makes this hoppy ale the farthest thing from a palate wrecker. Batch 014: Whirlpool of Hops

Double Dry Hopped New England Style Pale Ale All the buzzwords in this guy. If we are going to make a pale ale, you better believe we are going to drop a metric fuck ton of hops in it, and do it our own way. This beer has no hops in the boil, just in the whirlpool and in the dry hop. This huge late addition of hops gives this guy tons of tropical fruit hop flavors while keeping the bitterness low, so this is kinda a juice bomb. Low alcohol and light body on this brew means you can drink a bunch of them if you wanted to, and we bet you will after trying this tasty liquid. Frucht: Lemon & Cherry

Welcome to Frucht, our land of fruited Berliner Weisse-style beers. Known for a tart flavor profile and traditionally low ABV, our German-style wheat beer gains even more funky notes and natural earthy-woodiness from fermentation in one of our twin oak foeder vessels - the largest known to be fabricated in this country. This installment in our Frucht series is the first to feature two fruits (früchte?), with the refreshing combination of lemon zest and tart cherries.

Monkinator

Monkinator is our first attempt at a Belgian style version of a German style beer. Bocks are brown strong lagers and Doppelbock (double bock) is a stronger version of that style. We made ours with a traditional recipe that was modified with a little bit of Belgian Candi syrup, and uses a Belgian yeast strain that is technically an ale strain but ferments at cooler temperatures like a lager strain. The result is a moderately strong brown ale with some of the characteristics of a Belgian style ale and some of a classic German brown lager.

Saison 484

Brewed with malts of Haus Malts Pilsner and triticale, a wheat-rye hybrid first bred in laboratories during the late 19th century in Scotland and Germany. Hopped with ADHA-484 hops, which offer an aroma of woody cedar, bubblegum, and spice, and fermented with a traditional farmhouse yeast strain. A nose of lemon and hay and a classic taste that's dry and crisp with a bit of yeasty spice that offers a slightly bitter finish make this an easygoing, well-balanced saison for the summer that you'll return to again and again.

Dedicated To the Beaver

We love our city and we love the places that keep the culture alive here. Our owner Brad Shell is known for his fondness of a great dive bar and none shows that more than our towns Thirsty Beaver. When we all decided to do a collab we wanted to keep the recipe as down-home, pickleback, jukebox, pool table, lager as possible. We brewed this beer with old school high country barley, flaked rice, old world hops and water from the cool mountain streams of Mecklenburg. Because if you have to be dedicated to something be dedicated to the beaver!

Graveyard's Pale Ale

Surfboards have a limited lifespan. Sometimes they die in a dark dingy garage and other times they go down in a blaze of glory in board crushing waves. In the fall of 2001, the Oceanside Sandbar got hit with a rare Southern Hemisphere swell. The O’side locals erected a surfboard graveyard with all the broken boards taken. Then in October came the day of the year, when surfers were getting right and left tubes at the same time all morning. More than a few board victims were added to the graveyard, as captured in this classic, iconic image by Steve Sherman. Let’s raise a can of this hoppy pale ale brewed with Mosaic and Australian hops to all the surfboards that gave their life in pursuit of perfect tube rides!
