Limited release. Our brewmaster created this Belgian style tripel as a special tribute to his daughter Abby. Light in color, this beer has all of the typical qualities of a Belgian tripel that satisfy your taste buds and leaves you wanting to come back for more!

A dark copper, medium bodied beer with a nice malt balance. Maris Otter and Crystal malts give this beer a rich character while not being overly malty. A great session beer, at least how Double Barley defines a session beer! The Story: Abby’s amber came into creation quite simply I would say. Our BFFs daughter, Abby, was at the Lane nutshack one afternoon and was talking to Larry about beer, as she often would. When she heard about my Wilma’s Wandering EyePA she was instantly jealous and looked at Larry and stated matter of fact that she wanted a beer named after her. Now I know that this seems ordinary but you have to know that Abby was 9 years old at the time. She is no ordinary child either as she is an amazing musician, teaching herself the guitar and piano at the age of 6. She intends to celebrate her 21st birthday with a pint of Abby’s Amber Ale which is no ordinary amber. Abby has to wait but you fortunately are able to partake and she will have to live vicariously through you!

Abduction in the dead of night, an eerie silence consumes the blackened sky. In an instant, BOOM, a single beam engulfs you. Panic stricken, you flee in no particular direction. It’s of little use, as you’re lifed effortlessly from the safety and comfort of the earth intoa darkness unknown. Resistance is futile. They have you now. Abduction has you now.

Walk up to the bar and what do you ask for? A Beer, naturally. It doesn't always matter what it is, or what you want in this case. You want something light? We've got A Beer for you. You want something hop forward? We've got A Beer for you. You just want to camp out on that bar stool and crush something? We've got ABeer for you. We're only marginally apologetic that it's not kettle soured with Mosaic & Amarillo hops. This is better. This is a straight forward, refreshing extra pale ale utilizing the newest varieties of German aroma hops (Hallertau Blanc & Mandarina Bavaria). Call it a session IPA if you need, call it a pale ale if you prefer, hell, it doesn't matter what you call it, what matters is that you stop talking about it and throw ABeer down yer gullet.

American Style Amber with an twist. We started with a classic American Amber, 22% Caramalt giving it an Amber hue. Then added a large addition of Amarillo and Centennial hops for the bittering and dry hoped with Amarillo, giving it notes of grapefruit and tangerine. The complexity of the malts and hops in this beer make it a great ale for anyone who loves flavor.

Abner (1867-1953) is our great grandfather; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his fourteen children. In his honor, this Imperial IPA is dutifully crafted from American malted barley, a plethora of American hops, our ale yeast and water from Abner’s well. It is unfiltered, naturally carbonated, and double dry hopped. Aromatic and flowery, bursting with notes of citrus and pine, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Abner.

Dark, roasty, chocolatey malt flavors balanced by Noble hop aroma and subtle hoppy spice. Warm up to it. Don't be scared to be Abominable.

This English Mild is our session beer for those looking for flavor without all the alcohol. The malt flavors incorporate nutty, caramel, roast, & chocolate with just enough hops for a balanced beer. Treat yourself to another session beer.

A unique IPA we originally created for one of our guests wedding, this American IPA utilizes both Cascade and Calypso hops in addition to Lemongrass to give it a nice citrusy, but strong hop presence. Balanced by a simple malt bill with a touch of caramel, this IPA is more approachable than your traditional Northwest hop bombs. We like those too but that’s not what this one’s about.

Over the past few years we have been exploring texture. It has become an obsession. Abrahadabra is a smoothie inspired IPA aimed at bringing a creamy yet dry texture. Brewed with oats, wheat, lactose sugar, berries and citra hops. Brewed at Crazy Mountain Brewing Co in the USA.

We brewed this beer originally at the end of 2008 as a farewell to growler sales. As usual, we underestimated the demand for the first Double IPA in Minnesota. We brewed the beer again in the spring and released it as a draft only beer. It was originally called 16 Grit, a size of abrasive grit used at the old Abrasive factory that once stood where the brewery now resides.

Inspired by the rare and nearly-extinct eastern German tart wheat beer once known as “Lichtenhainer”, Abraxxxas is sour and complex, with a balancing smoky maltiness. As freakily drinkable as it is challenging, this ale was deemed an instant classic upon it’s release in the U.S.

Devoid of anything “light”, our Belgian stout fills the palate with hints of bittersweet chocolate, coffee, and dark fruit. The familiar flavor of roasted barley lingers on the tongue and serves to balance the underlying malt sweetness while a touch of spice from our house yeast reminds you of its Belgian heritage. First brewed as a test batch, we released it for sampling in April 2011 with much fanfare. So much so that we continued to get questions on a weekly basis on when we were going to brew it for general release. We felt it would make the perfect winter beer and given its name, the perfect companion to the dark nights that go along with the season.

Light bodied, clean, crisp tasting yet has a bit of character. Absolom’s Ale has a very faint fruitiness and a medium light hop presence leaving a pleasant hop bite.

An ultra-experimental mish mash of styles. This is an oak aged Imperial Weizenbock . A big, bold mouthfeel backed by some powerful banana and classic weizen notes, balanced by an eclectic yet bizarrely balanced variety of hops from America (Simcoe) the Czech (Saaz) and the UK (Bramling Cross). The beer is 10.2% ABV and has been aged on toasted French oak chips. As close to bannoffee pie as a beer can taste. Seriously. This beer was the brainchild of our German Lead Brewer Franz.
