Alouette is a Sour Saison in collaboration with Brasserie Dunham. We used several hundred pounds of fresh High Bush Cranberries which provide a juicy, acidic tartness.

If you look closely, you can imagine the magic of the dusk light on the mountains reflected in the amazing color of this brew. Spicy aromatics of banana, clove, raisin and bubblegum. Soft toasted caramel malt flavors with some complex dark fruits and a hint of licorice and molasses. Finishes silky smooth. Take a sip and set your mind aglow.

Very light, clear color from pale to golden yellow and a lightly hopped aroma and flavor.

Like it’s namesake, this American Wheat ale has a soft and warm character. The color has a subtle pink hue from the addition of hibiscus to the cloudy beer. The full aroma swirls with citrus and fruity esters due to the addition of blood orange and the particular qualities of the yeast. As an American wheat ale, the AlpenGlow has slightly more hop character and less of the classic hefeweizen clove and banana flavors than its German weissbier cousins. Alpenglühen or Alpenglow occurs in the high mountains when the light off of the snow and ice takes on a pink to red hue. The optical phenomenon lasts only a few minutes, and only occurs with the correct conditions. The sun has to be below the horizon, so the light has to reflect and refract off of airborne ice crystals. A unique soft and warm mood is set.

Alpha, the first entry in our one-off, brewer's choice series is a Belgian-style Pale Ale at 6.2% ABV. Brewed with Pale, Carahell and Wheat malts, Amarillo and Cascade hops. This medium bodied beer is crisp on the palate with a smooth, not overly bitter hops flavor coupled with the fruity esters from the Belgian Abby yeast strain we used. Its bottle and keg conditioned, so expect a tall, fluffy head, and perhaps small amount of sediment. Just one batch was brewed in April 2008, kegs released in late May, and only 20 cases of bottles for sale only at the brewery at the special debut night event of June 13, 2008, from 5 to 8 pm. A pale refreshing citrus ale

This golden ale is light, refreshing and sessionable, hopped lightly with Cascade. It’s an easy sipper for those just breaking into craft beer.

Here at DC Brau we love our hoppy beers. This is our latest attempt in seeing how many hops we can fit into a DIPA and I think we've hit a new mark. This beer clocks in around 100 IBU, similar to OTWOA but uses 4 different varieties instead of 1. Alpha-Domina-Mellis was also brewed with 30 lbs of Wildflower honey from Burnside Farms in Haymarket, VA that was added at the end of the 90 min boil and then 30 lbs added directly into the fermenter on the second day of primary fermentation.

Brewed with MCI malt for a lighter crisper IPA with an accentuated hop strike.

This Double IPA is a malty hop bomb, the battle of malt sweetness versus hop bitterness! Pours a dark red/orange, with a rocky head, zesty grapefruit and bready aromas, creamy caramel and piney mouthfeel with a balanced dry but sweet finish. Brewed with Gleneagles Maris Otter, Gambrinus Pale, Weyermann Caramel malts, Galaxy, Amarillo, CTZ, Summit, Centennial, and Citra hops and our proprietary English yeast strain.

Alpha Khan, feared General of the Alpha King. An experimental style bordering on IPA. Summit hops and light spices.

A very complex Belgian sextuple, sweet with caramel notes.

The Alpha refers to this beers strength and it's alpha acid content. The next brew in our Mastodon series of IPAs, we went big again. Heavily hopped, and then dry-hopped twice to enhance the Cascade hop aroma. If you hate hops, then you will hate this beer!

Calypso and Colombus hops collide to create this zesty session ale. Hints of grapefruit and citrus elevate this hopsy ale transporting you to summer anytime of the year.

Alphaphylactic Hop was brewed for Saraveza’s second annual double IPA fest and is currently out and about. The beer uses more hops than any brew we’ve made so far, yet still has an aroma spiked with floral and fruity notes rooted in a high temperature fermentation using the brewery’s house saison yeast. Bitterness is moderate for a double IPA at 65 ibu’s but is accentuated by a long and biting finish. 8.1% abv

This lightly hopped Ale has a beautiful deep amber hue and is rich in caramel malt flavor. Finishes clean to keep you coming back for more.

A robust and deeply textured dark ale. Brewed with midnight wheat, and a blend of Magnum, Cascade, and Amarillo hops. Dry hopped and cold conditioned.
