AltBitter, a collaboration beer between Deschutes Brewery and Widmer Brothers Brewing, is a blend of imperial barrel-aged versions of Bachelor Bitter and Widmer Brothers’ Altbier.

Our take on a traditional Northern German Altbier and brewed to thank the Alten Family who has carved-out space to house our production brewery in Richmond, California. Soft malt and rich caramel flavors balance with a moderate bitterness to finish clean and dry.

Fine spicy, malty beer through the use of dark malt, balanced with mild hop aroma.

Our old Rüthener Hell has a spicy-sour character, with its golden yellow color and its alcohol content of 4.8% beer Pilsener style.

Mosaic single hop Belgian-style pale

This beer is the “alter ego” of most German style beers we drink which are pale cold fermented lagers. Altbier is a rich, fruity warm fermented brown ale. The word “Alt” simply means old and refers to the time before the rise of lager brewing when ales were the dominant brews of Germany.

Despite being known for brewing lagers, Germany still brews a couple styles of ale. Altbier, a copper colored pale ale, is still brewed in the city of Dusseldorf and fermented with ale yeast at cooler temperatures. Our tribute to the old German brewery practices has a light fruit aroma that is not found in more recent styles. Using flavorful German malts and traditional noble hops, this balanced beer is sure to please a wide variety of palates.

This is our new go-to beer around the brewery and latest addition to our year-round lineup. Beautiful amber color with a giant tropical juicy fruit aroma and flavor. Loaded with Citra, Mosaic, El Dorado and Centennial hops, complimented by a medium malt body, we dare you to just drink one! Not too piney, not too citrusy, not too bitter, but just right!

We are all about the pursuit of Hoppiness, but there’s no reason an IPA needs to be a one trick pony. That’s why we created the AlterHop IPA. Each beer in the series features a similar malt profile—Golden Promise, American 2-Row, and light crystal malts. But then we get creative. Experimenting with different hops and ingredients means we can change flavors and aromas while challenging boundaries. Because there’s a world of hops out there. We just need to explore it. Our first batch showcases a mix of Citra® and Mosaic® hops. Oh, and it’s 7.4%. Just in case you need a little extra Holiday cheer.

Close cousin to our Twisted Galaxy, this single hop IPA also showcases the Galaxy hop from Australia. Dank citrus aroma and a medium body with slight herbal dankness.
