Amber Ale

We fell in love with American Amber Ale whilst on a road trip in Colorado. Using just enough Cascade and Palisade for an exciting flavour and aroma, it's a balanced refreshing beer with toasty malt character.

Amber Ale

The Amber is a American-style amber ale with bold hop character. The darker malts that are used during the brewing process create the amber color of the beer as well as the caramel sweetness of the flavor. The Amber is named after the Abana family who bottled artesian well water at the turn of the century in Lake County. You can also find this beer at Pine Meadows GC, White Deer Run GC, Thunderhawk GC, Bittersweet GC, and the Libertyville Sports Complex, and now Cafe Pyrenees Restaurant in Libertyville, IL.

Amber Ale

There is a broad spectrum of Amber Ales in this country. Some in this style have a very malt forward presence with restrained hop bitterness, while brewers on the west coast have popularized bigger hoppier versions of the style. We prefer to take things a little easier in the high country, so we brew our Amber Ale to be an easy drinking, well balanced beer that starts with a soft hop nose and finishes with a nice malty sweetness. With the highways being as curvy as they are in the mountains, sometimes it's better to be in the middle of the road.

Amber Ale In The Groves

The malt bill for this beer consists mostly of pale malt called Maris Otter, regarded as one of the finest brewing malts in the world. This is set off with generous quantities of Munich and Crystal malts, which add sweetness, and torrified wheat to keep the head white and fluffy. Our Malt comes from Warminster Maltings, a traditional Victorian floor malt house just down the road in Wiltshire. They produce the finest malts available and are a thoroughly nice bunch. This Amber Ale boasts subtle fruit and pine flavours with a smooth malt presence. Brewed with our firm favourite Amarillo hop, alongside the pear and apple notes of our stylish newcomer, Calypso. A fantastic aroma derived from a combination of Falconer’s Flight 7 C’s dry hopping and Belgian yeast. WI grown Nugget and Galena hops contribute a slightly spicy hop character that is complimented by spicy notes of the Belgian yeast. Pale malt, biscuit and a splash of black malt create a complex malt backbone. Developed and brewed as a collaboration between Furthermore Brewing and Next Door Brewing.
