Black Lager Beer

Carefully brewed to the German purity law of the raw hops, malt and water. This high-quality natural product is a top-fermented, fresh and spicy full-bodied beer with lemon soda, carbonic acid, citric acid and flavors.

We drew inspiration from Steve’s Grandmother’s holiday biscotti recipe to create this one of a kind brew. By utilizing an array of malts, oats, wheat, pure local honey, light European hops and delicately spicing with Grains of Paradise, Madagascar vanilla beans, whole star anise, all brought together with traditional Belgian yeast, the result is a cloudy, deep copper colored, complex experience. This delight to the senses should be served in a 12 ounce footed glass and allowed to warm to 50 degrees to fully gather the malt and spice spectrum.

This name should have Southern palates watering before you’re even in the same room as the beer. The carbonation was intentionally kept tame on this one, helping to smooth the finish on what’s an otherwise malty endeavor highlighted by Biscuit and Honey malts (hence the name). Meanwhile, the English hop varieties crisp things up ever-so-slightly.

Bishops Finger Kentish Strong Ale is a connoisseur's beer with excellent credentials and pedigree and is a silver medal-winner in the Daily Telegraph Taste of Britain awards. It takes its name from the finger-shaped signposts which pointed pilgrims on their way to the tomb of Thomas a Becket in Canterbury and was the first strong ale to be brewed by Shepherd Neame after malt rationing was eased in the late 1950s. It is also one of the UK's oldest bottled beers, brewed since 1958. Bishops Finger holds EU Protected Geographical Indication, recognising its unique provenance. Uniquely, it is brewed to a charter which states it can only be brewed by the head brewer on a Friday and that it must be brewed using 100% natural ingredients, Kentish hops and barley, and the brewery's own artesian mineral water.

Brewed for and named after the brewer's wife since the early 1990s, Bishopweizen is a traditional German hefe weizen with the characteristic clove and banana aroma and flavor.

Our award-winning version of this Düsseldorf specialty. The Bismark is a German-style Brown Ale. Extra conditioning allows for mellowed fruit and malt flavors. This copper-colored ale is served in a traditional 1/4 liter glass, and has exceptional balance. Gold 2009, Silver 2010 GABF.

In the tradition of Austrian beers, Bison Bock presents a slightly malty aroma with toasty notes in the flavor as well. European noble hops balance the malt sweetness with a slightly spicy but smooth dry finish. One is just not enough! Available exclusively at Butchertown Hall
