Made popular in the 19th century in Dortmunder, Germany, these pale golden lagers exhibit a classic clean character with notes of biscuity malts. Bitterness is akin to a German Pilsner with an aromatic aroma. Mouthfeel is firm and even, with an overall dry tone.

An amber ale named after the biggest wave on the Kennebec River. Natural blueberry flavor is added at kegging for a great fruity aroma! This is a well-carbonated summer favorite with light malt flavor and a nice crisp finish.

Big Paw Porter is influenced by the darker, roasted aspects of malt with complimentary Munich, chocolate, and brown malt flavoring with just the right amount of bittering. With a slight fruity flavor and trace floral accents, this porter is a good balance between brown ales and stouts.

On a cold, dark winter's day at the Cidery, thoughts of warmer climes compelled us to create a cider that could instantly transplant one's soul to a place with sand and ocean breezes, thus was born, Big Pippin. Fresh fruit and ginger on the the nose with notes of vanilla and caramel on the palate, Big Pippin delivers a lengthy finish of citrus and spice. Best enjoyed on a yacht.

Inspiration can sometimes be found in the strangest of places. This eccentric brew started with a single flower from a hop named Hallertau. The delicate and spicy aroma present in this flower has been responsible for generations of great beers. Hallertau hops are to a brewer what an old tractor is to a farmer: reliable. Big Red expresses the nobility of Hallertau by placing it at the forefront of this Imperial Ale. Pour it into a snifter. A swirl allows the spicy aromas to come forward as a taste to the lips reveals the complex balance between sweet malts and the bitterness of hops. Big Red’s ability to please is as dependable as your grandpa’s old tractor, and just as powerful–so please don’t drink and drive.

Several years in the making and hitting shelves for the first time in October 2015, Big RICC is large and in charge. A big, bold Russian Imperial Stout, Big RICC rolls in at 10.3% ABV and packs a punch. Bold coffee flavor and aroma with strong chocolate notes. Pours jet-black. Subtle dark fruit flavors. Dark roasted grains. Slight, “warming” alcohol presence. Full-bodied and great for sipping.

Brewed with chocolate and black malts, Rosie features a complex roasty character redolent of bitter-sweet chocolate and fresh ground coffee contrasted by a unique citrussy aroma derived from a healthy dose of Cascade and Willamette dry hops. At a hefty 6.8% ABV, Big Rosie will sneak up on you disguised in stunning drinkability. Named for our benevolent taxidermy elk head.

Big Scrub is classical interpretation of the some of the worlds greatest lagers with a new age dry hopping twist, showcasing stylistic influences from Germany and Czech Republic Pilsners. it pours golden with a slight haze from extended cold maturation (5 weeks) and no filtration, with a luscious white creamy head. It offers impeccable balance of floral aromatics and spicy herbal nuances, and with subtle hints of lemongrass from dry hopping with Dr Rudi and Pacific Jade. It finishes with a subtle dry malt and with firm balanced bitterness that make for a irresistibly refreshing and moreish finish.

This beer is our interpretation of a Double IPA, it’s loaded with hops and fits within the ABV range for a standard example. The IBUs are there but the bitterness is subdued and thanks to a touch of oats in the recipe it drinks incredibly smooth.
