Charbon

A classic dry stout of 7% vol alcohol, brewed with smoked wheat malt and flavored with fresh vanilla. Charbon is a beer with contradictions: the roasted flavors work together with the smoke flavor from oak-smoked wheat malt to give a good dose of pit with the beer. On the other hand the customized extract of fresh vanilla gives us a mild soft and subtle touch in the beer. The combination provides a thrilling Stout on which the antithetical taste nevertheless ensures a harmonious and balanced whole.

Chardonnale

This boundary-pushing beer defies all traditional style categories! Brewed with honey and agave nectar, it almost matches a white wine in its pale color. Hopped with massive amounts of German Hallertauer Blanc hops, as well as Citra, Santiam, and Lemondrop, it has a complex white wine aroma, with notes of gooseberry, melon, and white grape…but make no mistake, there are no grapes used in this beer!

Chardonnay

A classically styled Chardonnay from the Edna Valley showcasing aromas of pear, white peach, pineapple and wet stone. Flavors of beautiful tropical fruit with mineral undertones and textured creaminess are balanced with refreshing acidity, a hallmark of Paragon Vineyard, that keeps the wine lively and fresh from start to finish. All topped off with the perfect complement of vanilla bean and toasted oak.

Chardonnay Barrel Aged Brut du Sauvin

Nestled in our barrel archives for over eight months, Brut du Sauvin has matured and developed exquisitely. This effervescent champagne style beer has been resting in Marsannay Chardonnay barrels and has been imbued with subtle banana and pineapple notes; complementing the bright citrus characteristics of the Nelson Sauvin hops quite nicely. The beer has a residual funkiness on the finish, which complements of the Saison Dupont yeast, gives this beer a liveliness and balance to the dry characteristics of the Champagne Yeast. Like Champagne this beer is highly drinkable and light in body and flavor … drinkers beware.

A collab with our homies at Cartel, this Saison is brewed with Belgian farmhouse yeast and Brett brux. Then we dropped in 30 pounds of fresh beets and aged it in Chardonnay barrels just to keep it real. Deep purple/pink, earthy, peppery and dry. If you like beets, this is your jam. Chardonnay French Oak Hop God

A beautiful golden crossbreed of a Belgian Tripel and a West Coast IPA.  A remarkable explosion on the palate with spiciness, tropical fruit, and a firm citrus bitterness that will leave you begging for more!  Aromas of grapefruit, citrus, and piney hops & tastes on the palate that tend toward pineapple, mango, and sweeter fruits. Hopped with Warrior, Chinook, Centential, and Cascade hops.  A big beer that was inspired by the West Coast - yet brewed by a Midwestern brewery not content with the status quo.

Both darker and stronger than a standard pumpkin ale, this pumpkin infused brown ale still delivers the same great flavors that make fall so enjoyable. The aroma is made up of various spices including cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and allspice while caramel and chocolate malts add a complex malt character. Finally, real pumpkin is added for a subtle, yet noticeable flavor making it taste like a dessert onto itself.

Charlie Wells Dry Hopped Lager

Our Master Brewers have poured the company’s 139 year heritage into crafting a new lager, using its founder’s roots travelling the world in the Merchant Navy as inspiration. Charlie Wells Dry Hopped Lager is brewed with natural mineral water from a well sunk by Charles Wells himself in the early 1900s and the brewers combine several varieties of hops from around the world to create the beer’s slight bitterness, hoppy aroma and subtle maltiness with a deliciously smooth finish. Brewed in true continental style, we use 100% malt in the mash and add in Target hops followed by a late addition of Styrian Goldings to add that really noble hop aroma. We ferment the beer cool with lager yeast for seven days, and what makes this beer really special is a two week cold conditioning stage with Australian Galaxy and Ella hops which brings out all that depth of flavour and dry hop character.

Charlton Rouge

On first impression, Charlton Rouge will remind you of the famous Flanders Red sour ales of Belgium. It is complex in both flavor and aroma with notes of vanilla, oak, plum, green apple and sour cherries. Tannins from the oak barrel aging add structure to the mouthfeel and balance the otherwise soft acidity. A light malt character lingers reminding you that you are still drinking beer. Our first barrel-aged sour release is created by taking the base beer (Cognition) and aging it in used red wine barrels for over 9 months. During that process a combination of wild yeasts and souring organisms are added to produce a myriad of complex flavors as well as the signature sour character. As it is our first sour beer, we wanted to pay homage to the brewery itself which is located on Charlton Street in Everett.

Charter Oak Abbey Dubbel

Our beer offerings would not be complete without including a wonderful Belgian styled beer; we chose Charter Oak's Abbey Dubbel. This beer will be a medium bodied, dark brown ale that might even make the Trappist monks ask for the recipe! Our Dubbel will have a strong malty sweetness as a backbone with a chocolate and caramel aroma from our specialty barley. Although only slightly hopped for full flavor and medium bitterness, it will be well balanced. If it's a strong and enduring head of foam you like, you'll fall in love with this one!

Charter Oak Kolsch-Style

This style may have been developed in Cologne, Germany, but we think we have perfected it here at the Charter Oak Brewery. Charter Oak's Kolsch-style beer is a pale, light bodied golden ale (like Champaign) which is the perfect choice for a warm summer afternoon or evening. The brewery carefully ferments this style at slightly warmer temperatures than our normal brands and than cold ages in a conditioned tank to provide you with a smooth, refreshing beer. Our Kolsch is a light month feel, but full of flavor and finishes crisp. This style is not overly bitter and could be your new 'go to' summer beer! The ultimate for a session beer.

Charter Oak Lights Out Stout

Charter Oak's first in their limited release 'Charter Series' is Lights Out Stout (recall, it was when the candles mysteriously were extinguished, the Charter 'disappeared') is a robust, yet well balanced Russian Imperial Stout. This limited release is brewed to an opaque, midnight black shade with an abundance of Specialty malted and roasted barley and plenty of East Kent Golding and Northern Brewer hops directly from the hop farms in the UK. Lights Out Stout enjoys a complex taste profile of coffee, chocolate, and toffee and at 9.1% ABV it's a real sipper on a cool Fall or Winter evening. This is a robust, yet well balanced, Stout with hints of chocolate, coffee, toffee, and Carmel and a solid roasted barley back bone. It pours a dark black with a full head of tan foam and enjoys a dominate chocolate and coffee aroma. From your first sip, there is no mistake that this style has plenty of fresh hops; however the full malted barley backbone hides any hint of bitterness. This is a well balanced Russian Imperial Stout with a generous ABV at 9.1% and full flavor. It's a real sipper for a cold winter evening.

Our Porter, true to style, will be very dark brown (almost black) in color from the roasted Chocolate malts. This style will have plenty of roasted grain taste, together with our caramel malted flavor generating a balanced sweetness to a medium hop bitterness. This Porter will be a full-bodied beer, without a lot of Alcohol and a perfect choice for a cool Fall evening.

Charter Oak Stout

Charter Oak's Stout may surprise even the true beer geek with its full mouth feel, yet a light and refreshing finish! Our Stout is unique, with our special selection of malted barley, hand picked hops, filtered water, and special yeast. Do not let the jet black shade sway your opinion, this is merely a result of our roasted barley. This style is a medium sweet beer and ours includes undertones of chocolate and coffee, an aroma that comes alive as you pour this stout into a pint glassware. This is a smooth drinking, creamy, full month feel, while moderately bitter and well balanced. COBC's Stout will generate a full head of tan foam and the head will last until the very last sip. Enjoy this on a cold winter's night!
