Centennial - Hop Essence Series

This classic American hop has been a staple ingredient in many of the popular IPA's brewed in the past twenty years. This beer was brewed in the Cascadian Dark Ale style, also known as a Black IPA. The light roasty flavors of dark roasted grains pair perfectly with the floral and citrus flavors of the Centennial hops. All hop additions were made with loose leaf Centennial hops grown in Willamette Valley, Oregon. These hops were picked and kilned just two weeks prior to their use. Bottling Date: October 1, 2013

Centennial Jack Pale Ale

Brewed in honor of Humboldt State University’s 100th anniversary, we decided the best way to pay homage was to use 100% Centennial hops in a sessionable pale ale! Pours a golden orange color with a crisp off-white head. Delicate citrus and floral hop aromas are a perfect counterbalance to the full and slightly sweet mid palate with a clean dry finish. Brewed with Gambrinus Pale, Gleneagles Maris Otter, and Weyermann Munich malts, Centennial hops, and our proprietary English yeast strain. Go Jacks!

Centennial Rye

Much like an American-Style wheat beer, it is light, crisp, and refreshing, but with a twist: the use of rye malt, adding a nice, almost tart character to this seasonal brew. Unlike an IPA, it uses its namesake hop, Centennial, to add a citrus and grapefruit finish without overpowering the subtle spiciness of the rye. Perfect for warmer weather!

Center Street Series #1

“The harvest season is coming early, and so too are the cooler temperatures. Center Street Series #1 is created to make the most of the crisp air and let you enjoy every bit of the short autumn season. It is hand crafted with tradition in mind, but always with a little MB twist. The malt is the key to Center Street Series #1 with the hops taking a break. Much like its German inspired relatives, you see its brilliant amber color and smell its rich malt base. The flavor follows the aroma, and is toasty with a touch of sweetness and a slight noble hop presence. We all know that autumn goes way too fast in Minnesota. Take the time to sit down and enjoy both the season and Center Street Series #1. It won’t be long before neither one of them will be around.”

Ceraline Cream Ale

Lighten Up With Ceraline Cream Ale! A refreshing golden ale inspired by noble German Pilsner and traditional American beer. Legend has it that the corn flake was invented at Cerealine Mill, just one block from our restaurant in downtown Columbus, Indiana. The nineteenth century mill produced this flaked corn as hot cereal and as an adjunct for brewing. We brew Ceraline Cream Ale with flaked corn similar to what was produced at the mill.

Cereal City Not Champagne

Virtually unknown today, Berliner Weisse was once the dominant beer style of Berlin. Refreshingly effervescent and slightly sour, it can be sweetened with a shot of Schuss (flavored syrup) or enjoyed straight up. Either way, you’ll quickly taste why Napoleon proclaimed it “the champagne of the North.”

Cereal Killer

Brewed in the traditional English style of Barleywines, Cereal Killer is an explosion of full-bodied, malty goodness. Huge syrupy flavors flow over caramel, toffee, molasses and toasty notes. All these rich malt flavors are balanced out nicely by just the right amount of citrus-like hoppy bitterness. A high alcohol content makes this a beer for the cellar. As this brew ages, it will continue to develop more sherry-like flavors and aromas similar to a cask-aged port. This is a BIG beer. True to our original vision, we have taken a traditional style and tweaked it a bit. Delicious on its own, Cereal Killer is also brilliant with many foods, or as a digestif.
