The Dark Ages is our Silver Medal Winning Bishop's Brown Ale recipe, turned IMPERIAL. We added two gallons of Pure Vermont Maple Syrup and Cinnamon Sticks, to give this version a woody, earthy flavor that is warming, and sweet. Just like French Toast on a bitter cold winter's morning.

This Dark Ale is brewed using 6 malts including darker malts like Dark Chocolate Malt, Dark Carmel, Roasted Barley and a touch of Cherry-wood Smoked Malt. It is very well balanced; the hops and a light smokiness come through in the finish. This recipe was developed by the fine team at New Abanian Brewing Co. in New Albany, IN and has historical roots in Indiana brewing.

This is a very pleasant dark ale. This dark ale has an up front arome of chocolate and good dark malt flavours of coffee and chocolate. Despite being a dark beer, this one has a light body for drinkability.

Flagship Dark Mild ~ 4.5% ABV ~ 20 IBU The British Mild is a popular session ale known for a soft hop character and lower alcohol content. While holding true to these classic guidelines, Flagship “Dark Mild” is black in color due to a complex malt profile bursting with flavor. Using a wide variety of roasted, toasted, and caramel malts, this ale is meant to salute our fondness for dark beer. With a light bodied mouth feel that is exceptionally refreshing, we created this beer to be a go-to for dark ale enthusiasts and a gateway for the “non” dark beer drinkers.

North Peak Darkangel is robust and dry with a finishing touch of tart cherry. The roast barley quickly gives way to the subtle chocolate malt and rich Crystal 30.Chinook and Centennial hops put forth a sharp clean bitterness that is followed by a medium malt body balanced with Challenger hops, ending with a smooth dry, tart finish and strong Galena nose. It is brewed in Traverse City, MI, on Old Mission Peninsula incorporating locally grown hops.

Thirst leads to anger, and anger is the path to the dark side. This beer is the dark side’s reaction to the Padawan Pumpkin. A brown porter with the added flavor of pumpkin and pumpkin pie spices.

Reminiscent of American Bock Beers of the 1960’s that had the robust flavor and hoppy character of those seasonal beers.

Export Stout brewed with rolled oats and aged with American oak plus medium toast.

Horse Heaven dry stout and sweet cherries brewed in a style similar to Stallion with the inspiration of Yakima Valley cherries.

Dark was the inspiration to make this stout. A great divine power flowed through our bodies as we mashed this baby in for the first time. This thick bodied sweet stout is great all year long. This beer is the first one we have created after having opening and logging around 100 brews on our little system. As dark as the name implies, Dark Days is one formidable Imperial Stout. This beer is so dark, that not even light can escape its cold, frothy embrace. And it’s probably the reason why so many people are caught off guard by how smooth and velvety it is. So it’s no surprise that it has the uncanny ability to turn even the most devout light beer drinker to the dark side. Since we believe that it’s not enough to just brew the stuff, we age it in barrels until it reaches the maxim of decadence and smoothness.

We first brewed this beer to kick off the Latona’s Winter Beer Series in 2009. Proprietor Bob Brenlin asked us to make a special beer that he could serve at the Latona, Hopvine, and Fiddler’s Inn, and since it was set to debut on the Winter Solstice, the darkest day of the year, especially here in Seattle, we were only too hoppy to oblige: we squished together the best aspects of Porter and IPA, keeping the dark malt complexity while pairing it with the assertive hop spiciness of Centennials. Black India Pale Ale is oxymoronic, of course, so we like to call this a Cascadian Dark Ale, to reflect the fact that our weather here is generally dark and we like our beers with hops and introspection. O.G. 17 P, 6.5% ABV, 75 IBU.
