Dark White Ale

We barrowed our Venus (white) yeast to make this malty ale with hints of bakers' chocolate and traditional orange peel. We simply call this the high gravity beer the Dark White.

Darkest Hour

Darkest Hour is a Belgian Style Imperial Stout brewed with Summit hops. Triple Fermented – first with a Belgian yeast, second in a Pinot Noir and rye whisky barrels. And finally in the bottle with a wine yeast for natural carbonation. The hour of darkness is one of slumber for most. There are those, however, that do their best diabolical work when left to their own devices in the dark underworld. These creatures toil silently and mysteriously, transforming their subjects into an alluring liquid that, by the light of day is as dark as the night, but with truly enlightening qualities when beholden by those in search of good things. Such is the case with the almighty Saccharomyces as it converts the complex sugars of Anchorage Brewing Company’s The Darkest Hour, into a brooding, almost dangerous Belgian Style Imperial Stout, borne of complex malts, subtle, but distinctive hops and a stern command from the master’s hand that all things that come to life must be good. From the dark depths of the oak awakes this mighty brew that at 13 percent alcohol gives pause to mortals of lesser fortitude. Sip deeply, but imbibe, lest you succumb to the dark powers of this melancholy brew with deep, rich flavors. Drink in the darkness if you must, but edge closer to the fire if one’s kindled nearby. The Darkest Hour will fill your palate and your mind with things you may not have considered before. At Anchorage Brewing Company, we bid you good thoughts with the help of our newest creation.

Darkest Hour

Brewed to mark the winter solstice, the darkest and shortest day in the Northern Hemisphere, our Imperial Stout is a fitting tribute. We mash enough grain to overflow our oversized Mash/Lauter Tun, augment it with raw cane sugar and Belgian-style dark candi syrup (both made in the USA!) balance it with abundant, tasty hops and then fed the resulting wort to our favorite ale yeast. It is conditioned twice as long as our regular offerings to let the huge flavors marry. This ale is one for the ages.

Darkwater

Iconic and treasured to many in Florida, the Suwanee river is an ancient and revered part of our state. Edged by rising white sand beaches, the river’s winding and dark, tannin stained waters inspired our Floridian Dark Ale, Darkwater. What we have titled a “Floridian Dark Ale,” our Black IPA, boasts a bright, fresh hop profile that rests alongside a rich, dark chocolate malt profile. The flavors swirl and flow together to bring you a satisfying glass of hoppy dark water to take in with good friends.

Dark~N~Lusty Stout

IV Stout is a very dark, top fermented beer made from pale malt, roasted unmalted barley and a caramel malt. The style was first introduced by Guinness as an extra stout version of their porter. The new stout was darker, hoppier and richer than porter, which it gradually overtook in popularity.

Darth Monk

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.... well not so long ago and in the next room our brewmaster overcame the forces of evil (a broken mash tun) to create this beer. A tremendous amount of dark malts come together to create a tempting aroma of chocolate, coffee and roast. These aromas carry through into the flavor and are balanced by an intense malty sweetness. The maltiness dissipates quickly into a dry finish. Don’t be afraid of the dark side as Luke once was.
