This style of beer is classified as an 'American' Barley Wine. The focus for this beer is its ABV, alcohol by volume, which typically ranges between 8-15%. Although the name implies that it is a 'wine' it is still a beer and a very strong and intense one at that. The American version tends to be heavily hopped in an attempt to balance the heavy sweet nature of this beer. Our focus was on both the malts and hops used during the brewing process. We chose to use double the amount of grain needed to provide the high ABV (we will never use adjuncts to lighten our grain bill - no sugars added). Thus our Barley Wine has a very rich, intense, and heavy body, the aroma and flavor of rye grain is very prominent . Our version is also very heavily hopped with a finishing IBU of 130 before barreling, thus balancing the sweetness of the body. This Barley Wine was brewed in January of 2012 and aged in Bourbon Barrels for 5 full months, thus imparting even more flavor to this very complex beer. Barley Wines are meant to be sipped and enjoyed in smaller fancier glasses. ARE YOU READY TO BE DOMINATED ??

A Newfoundland local lager that pours a corn-golden clear, bubble-ridden head, with a grassy taste subverted by a sweet yeast and grain body, starting with a neutral nose and an only slightly bitter aftertaste. Not disagreeable in the least. Makes for a great beer throughout the night, an agreeable starting beer, or an easy-to-get-along-with beer to wrap up your night, tuck you in and kiss you gently on your forehead.

A fruit lambic brewed with Italian grapes similar to Concord grapes or Fox grapes (Vitis Labrusca) brewed exclusively for Goblin Pub and Livingstone Club in Florence, Italy, in 2008.

One of the most challenging beers we have ever brewed. Very subtle and complex with a thousand small flavours held in a very delicate balance. We made this beer using traditional beer ingredients, but it was designed to appeal to Chardonnay wine makers and drinkers and it does!

Don't fear the RIPA. Consume the RIPA. Hops take the main stage with a West Coast style malt bill. An aggressive IPA with a little extra spice for this draft only release. Hop forward with pine and resin flavors on the mouthfeel.

Brett Barrel-Aged Porter Who knew the venom of a magical donkey would taste so good? Aged in barrels with Brettanomyces and other bugs for 6-12 months, what was once a strong porter has emerged anew. Donkey Venom presents a well-rounded range of flavours, balancing roasted malt and tart characteristics. Deceivingly drinkable for its high ABV, this tart porter is among our more unique offerings.

This striking beer is similar to pale ale but brewed with lager and served in colder temperatures. True to style this is a very balanced beer that is light bodied malt with subdued fruitiness and a noble hop character offering a very light bitterness. This is a traditional Lenten beer in Germany called a Bockbier. It is a malt-heavy lager and is slightly sweet showcasing toasted notes and melenoidens.

Our Porter features a blend of roasted and caramelized malts giving it a luscious malt signature that has an earthiness derived from the non-traditional use of ­baked barley in the grain bill. The bold use of only Simcoe hops for both bittering and aroma highlights this hop varietal and balances the malt to create a robust, yet smooth finishing porter. Long ago, the owner gave his first employee, Chris Dooley, the honor of selecting the next beer style to produce. Dooley (never call him Chris) chose porter. However, the demand for Switchback Ale, our fl­agship brew, exceeded our capacity, preventing the release of this new beer for FIVE years. Our first kegs of Porter were finally sold in December 2009. Considering this long delay, we christened it Dooley’s Belated Porter.
