Brewery Ommegang and HBO are partnering on a series of beers in support of the critically-acclaimed drama Game of Thrones. Launching in tandem with the season three debut, Iron Throne is the inaugural beer in the series. Iron Throne is a blonde ale at 6.5% ABV and brewed with a robust amount of pils, honey malt, aroma malts and red wheat. Gentle hopping includes Styrian Golding and Hallertau Spalter Select, appropriately noble hops. Spiced with grains of paradise and lemon peel. Hue is a slightly hazy golden amber. Head is full and fluffy. Finish is crisp, backed by a touch of spice and hops. Aroma is a bit grassy with a hint of lemon fruitiness from the lemon peel. Taste is lightly malty, rounded out by honey malt sweetness.

Take the Black Stout has a deep black, almost opaque, hue with a full tan head. Deep aromas of dark chocolate, caramel malt and earthy hops, with light roastiness and a touch of fruitiness. Rich flavors of chocolate, coffee and roasted malt. Clean hop bitterness converges with a slight woody character and spiciness. The finish offers a rich malt sweetness giving way to spicy earthiness. Malt: Robust amount of Specialty Malt, Chocolate Malt, Midnight Wheat and Roasted Barley Hops: Northern Brewer, Columbus. Spices: Licorice Root, Star Anise Pair the somber faces of disgraced nobles with roasted and barbequed chicken, oysters and strong cheeses such as Roquefort, Gorgonzola and blue cheese. Pairs great with desserts including cheesecake, chocolate, creme brulee and vanilla ice cream.

After an exciting season that saw the Starks reclaim the North and Cersei take the Iron Throne as the first queen of Westeros, Brewery Ommegang and HBO Global Licensing are introducing a new beer and bringing back a previous brew to steady the nerves of fans as they anxiously endure the show’s off-season break. Valar Dohaeris Tripel Ale is the latest beer in the series and pays homage to Arya’s season-long struggles within and around the House of Black and White. Valar Dohaeris Tripel Ale is, much like a “faceless man,” not what it first appears to be; it shares the complexity of its sister-brew, Valar Morghulis Dubbel, and a strength masked and belied by its lighter color. On sale in October 2016 in 750ml single bottles, on draft, and also paired alongside its previously released sister-brew Valar Morghulis in a collectible gift pack which features a commemorative glass as well.

This massive wheat beer is brewed with an obscene amount of locally grown Tupelo and Sourwood Honeys from Savannah Bee Company. This Gamma Ray will stop any super hero’s arch enemies in their tracks! The high content alcohol of these beers make them perfect for cellaring…hide them away and pull one out for a special event 2-3 years later. Annual release: June

The bar’s custom-brewed house dry-hopped beer is called Gandavum. It is no surprise that Gandavum is an extraordinarily dry and herbal blond beer. Gandavum is unfiltered, made with all (pilsner and Munich) malt, hopped with Tomahawk and Willamette, and dry hopped with Willamette.

Roasted malt aromas, medium-bodied with chocolate and caramel notes and a medium hop bitterness. A complex and harmonious profile.

Our Belgian style quadrupel is aged in whiskey barrels.

A rich, full bodied deep golden beer with plenty of berry, blackcurrant and citrus fruit flavour.

Barley Wine style ales are rich, strong and opulent. They require massive amounts of ingredients and long conditioning times. Our version will put a warming smile on even the curmudgeonliest ‘stubborn old man.’ Annually released in February

Brettanomyces Farmhouse Ale fermented with Peaches Our craft honors our childhood lessons. We were lucky to learn ours the hard way: “stick with it,” “wipe your tears,” “Earn your calluses,” and “try to keep up with our ol’ man.” These are the lessons that stay, working their way into our weather flash and aching bones until they are as much a part of us as our own names. Garçon de Ferme is a foeder-rested, Brettanomcyes farmhouse ale. After fermentation,this pleasantly tart ale is blended back onto over a pound and half per gallon of fresh, whole peaches to reflect and echo that the craft of the old has not been wasted on the young.

Garden Gose is our tribute to lightly tart and slightly slightly salty beers of Leipzig, Germany. We updated it a bit with the addition of lemon peel and a touch of cascade hops. Goseanna!

An organic brew with rose hips, lemon grass and coriander. Light and refreshing with a slight citrus flavor.

Our second release in the Art Can Series is Garden State! This beautiful can features the painting Garden State by Nicole Gavin and is paired with a beer specially made with this artwork in mind. Inside is a traditional German Hefeweizen with Bavarian Mandaria hops! The hops are added late in the boil and dry-hopped in the fermenter, adding fruity, citrus flavors to complement the banana and clove flavors contributed by the yeast.

A finely crafted nod to all community gardeners. This beer contains hops grown in the backyard tradition. A heap of Tim Duffin's Cascade hops alongside Nugget, Hallertauer, Willamette and more Cascade from our friends in Bridgeland. 100% local malted barley and wheat. A labor of love indeed.
