Gentse Strop owes its name to the proud people of Ghent who are nicknamed “stroppendragers” or noose-wearers. In 1540, the people of Ghent refused to pay an additional war tax, with the result that Emperor Charles V had the ringleaders parade through Ghent with a noose around their necks, as a sign that they deserved to go to the gallows. Still today, the noose continues to symbolise proud resistance against any form of tyranny and misplaced authority. Gentse Strop is a tribute to anyone who feels a sense of pride in their soul.

Genuine Honey Lager was introduced in 2005 in response to consumer demand for honey lagers. Originally introduced in 1992, Genuine Lager has evolved into a truly definitive Canadian Lager. Balancing a blend of quality aromatic and bittering hops with its medium body, Genuine Lager is a smooth, refreshing and easy-drinking beer with a subtle hop aroma and a hint of malty sweetness.

Another terroir beer by our brewery. In this beer the special ingredient is gentian root from our area. The roots are infused during the last 2 minutes of the boil. The leading notes are brushwood, pepper and floral. The first mouth feel is of honey, followed by root flavors, pepper and yellow fruit. The aftertaste is delicate and persistent.

A traditional German-style pilsner. Hops and pilsner malt combine to produce a lighter-bodied pils that finishes crisp yet soft.

И это ему блестяще удавалось, так как, по свидетельствам современников, он обладал исключительной способностью «нравиться с первого взгляда» и находить покровителей. Даже несмотря на это обстоятельство, петербургское высшее общество было изумлено, узнав, что совершеннолетнего молодого офицера, у которого был жив родной отец, желает усыновить голландский посланник при русском дворе де Геккерн. Стали ходить сплетни, якобы Дантес Жорж Шарль является незаконнорожденным отпрыском дипломата. Однако более достоверной казалась версия о гомосексуальной связи 44-летнего барона де Геккерна и 24-летнего поручика.

Our version of this less-than-famous style of mead is technically a bottle-conditioned ale using local blackberry honey. We add Northern Brewer hops and ferment it with a Belgian yeast strain. The malt bill includes Munich, Pilsner and Special B malts.

Gerardus Blond is a sparkling monastery bitter beer with a spicy flavor starter. Spices and hops give this beer its slightly sweet rich, round flavor. We brew it based on a recipe of the fathers of the Redemptorist Monastery Wittem. A portion of sales of Gerardus Blond is intended for the preservation of this beautiful monastery. Visit it once and then come to our brewery for a tasting.

This intergalactic thirst quenching pale ale delivers a bright, citrusy punch. A perfect companion to summer days on the forest moon of Endor to the peak of the Zugspitze.

Various different malt tones strike though as the beer warms, including biscuit, toffee, and caramel as well as the distinctive toastiness of the Vienna malt. The hop bill is resinous and huge, offering citrus, pine, and hints of menthol that give an special sharpness to this beer. The German yeast provides a clean, light-in-esters backdrop for this wonderful beer to explore.
