A twist on a Howard Brewing classic with the addition of smoked Jalapeno, Poblano, Fresno, and Anaheim peppers to give this easy drinker just the right amount of heat!

Traditional American lager infused with Jalapeno Peppers. With its light body, low hops, and crisp taste, this lager makes a great session beer for those who don't mind a little heat. It has a powerful aroma of peppers but only mild heat in the finish. Optionally squeeze in a lime to reduce the spice and add further depth to the flavor.

James was our Uncle (Edward James Hill, Jr.); Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his four siblings. In his honor, this Black Ale is dutifully crafted from American and German malted barley, American hops, our ale yeast, and water from James’ well. It is unfiltered, naturally carbonated, and dry hopped. Roasty and smooth, with accents of chocolate and a balanced hoppy finish, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with James.

James Bean is a bourbon barrel aged, Belgian-style strong ale that is infused with cold press coffee, post fermentation. Coffee, vanilla and bourbon dominate the aroma. Flavors of caramel, coffee, bourbon, and oak present themselves throughout this full-bodied beer. The coffee used in James Bean is Speckled Ax, roasted right here in Maine. The beans used are Ethiopia Amaro Gayo and are known for their lush blackberry and blueberry fruit flavors.

Rich bodied ale pairs Australian malts with hops. An initial sweetness on the palate gives way to a cleansing bitterness and the addition of Simcoe and Columbus hops balances a fruity, piney aroma with a spicy character.

A robust and complex malt flavor, lightly balanced by German traditional hops. It is brewed in January and lagered until February to smooth out the alcoholic brew.

A golden ale infused with locally sourced honey and balanced with subtle hop overtones?

Our style of brewing has always been about taking chances. It’s an extension of our “what-if” mentality, wherein we ask ourselves what would happen if we did things di­fferently in the brewhouse, such as fermenting with a di­fferent strain of yeast or, in the case of this beer, incorporating whole-leaf green tea imported from Japan. The answer, embodied in this IPA when we first released it in 2011, was something truly magnificent, delicious and well worth brewing again. But what if we changed it up a bit? This time around, we exchanged Pacifica hops from New Zealand for Helga hops from Australia. The result is an IPA that’s as bright, herbaceous and bitingly hoppy as the one that’s had our fans requesting its return ever since its depletion from store shelves, but with a modern, hop-driven twist that makes this second draft unique and tasty in its own right.

Pilsner brewed with ginger and fresh wasabi root.

Developed in Yakima Valley, Washington by Roy Farms Jarrylo, also known as experimental hop ADHA881, is a dual-purpose hop used for aroma and flavor. Pronounced Yar-i-lo, this hop is named after the Russian God of fertility. Paired with a crisp Pilsner malt base, this single hop beer highlights the pear, orange, spicy and, fruity notes of the hop.
