This Lager might seem a little alien to those expecting an ale but never fear, Marzen (or Oktoberfest), is characterized by a malty aroma and not very hoppy at all. Yeah, Marvin is a little full of himself, but maybe he should be – after all, he is very filling and his hubris is kinda cute. Similar to a red Vienna Lager, but a little less robust.

Mary was Edward's mother and our great-grandmother. A German-style pilsner brewed with our well water, American 2-row malt, our favorite German hops, classic German lager yeast. 5.7% abv.

Mary Jane IPA is a Trans-Atlantic India Pale Ale. Relying on the English hops for bittering, the star of the show is the North American hop aroma, deceptively smooth on the palate building to a hoppy crescendo. Based on the award-winning Yorkshire classic Mary Jane, it has a floral aroma, notes of honey and a pleasant lingering bitterness to finish.

Mary Wiles joined our brewery team after spending 30 years brewing and doing quality control for a Very, Very Big Brewer. Mary evolved into a craft beer brewer, and now she’s doing our quality control, having fun while helping us make sure that Brooklyn beers are tasting great and ready to make you happy. But Mary has a bright thing lurking in her past, present and future – Mary has maple trees. A lot of maple trees. Actually, a ridiculous number of maple trees, acres of them, right northwest of us in upstate New York. And her family farm makes 100% real New York State maple syrup. Real maple syrup tastes great on pancakes and waffles, but it’s awfully good in beer too. Porter is a classic British ale style that traveled to the United States, sustained George Washington during the Revolution, and later built London’s great breweries. Mary’s Maple Porter is a rich, dark ale featuring a large portion of her maple syrup in the kettle. After fermentation by our house ale yeast, the syrup is no longer sweet (yeast likes to eat maple syrup too), but the maple flavor shows through in a complex interplay with caramel, chocolate, and cof fee flavors from our blend of roasted malts. The Blue Stallion Märzen, a rich malty beer with a hint of hop bitterness. The beautiful copper color reflects the caramel and pilsner malt in this seasonal brew. Märzen, also known as an Oktoberfest-style beer, originated for the celebration of King Ludwig I wedding in 1810 and has been a Bavaria tradition ever since. The Märzen/Oktoberfest style beer which is served during the celebration is often brewed in the spring and held cold over the summer to be tapped in spectacular fashion at the beginning of Oktoberfest in Munich. Our take on the style is slightly bitter with a pale head and is served in both liter and half-liter sizes.

Märzen, the German word for "March" was historically the last beer brewed in the spring. Traditionally, Märzenbier is a pale lager that originated in Bavaria before the 16th century and was consumed throughout Oktoberfest at the end of September. Our Märzen is a vibrant orange color. You will get caramel and biscuit aromas leading to a malty, mellow, and mild taste. Enjoy this seasonal while it lasts.

German Spring Lager aged to perfection brewed with 2 Row Barley, Crystal, Victory and Munich Malts. Has an amber complexion with caramel and roasted characteristics and a fairly dry finish. This higher gravity lager is named after the month of March when most brewers made this beer.
