AIso known as a farmhouse aIe, this Saison features White Pepper, Coriander, and Grains of Paradise. A traditionaI “after work brew” for the fieId workers in the farms of BeIgium. Not too hoppy, and wonderfully spiced.

Think of this as our Lot #3 on performance-enhancing malt and hops. At 9.3% ABV, this beer is loaded with tropical fruit and citrus notes. Deep gold in color, massive additions of American varietals of hops generate assertive bitterness and big hop flavor and aroma. Dangerously drinkable for such a big beer.

Our flagship brand; this medium bodied amber ale starts with a rich malt flourish that’s kept in perfect balance by a smooth hop finish. This MBC original is similar to a German style malt beers. I have been brewing the Louie’s recipe for 15 years now. Brewing this beer is like wearing a favorite shirt or old hat; it’s reliable and comfortable. I look forward to the rich and complex malt aromas that are released during the mash, you might also catch some caramel and earthy notes. A portion of the malt bill is honey malt from Garnbrinus Malting Co. It adds that sour and honey aroma to the ale. Since the malt is really the highlight of this brew we kept it simple on the hops and the yeast. The yeast strain we use produces a subtle dried fruit flavor. We changed the yeast strain about 12 years ago to cut down on the BU’s and the malt bill has changed very slightly since we started brewing it.

Love Rock is a Vienna Style Lager. This type of lager beer has a subtle malt sweetness, balanced by the earthy tones of noble German Hallertauer hops. The Rock is a story unique to Milwaukee and our freshwater coast. As part of the drinking water system for the city, the system draws from a big pipe in the Lake. The “intake” was marked by a big structure that was prominent off the Bradford Beach shoreline. Because of the privacy (in plain view!)the Rock was a popular lookout point for ambitious suitors. In the exciting free love days of the early ’70′s, a few ambitious Milwaukeeans paddled out to the Rock and memorialized the sentiment of the time. The original version of Love Rock known as “Winter Lager” happens to be the second batch of beer brewer at our second street location, it was brewed on November 27th 2007. We have made a few adjustments to the recipe over the years, just to the body and to the color. The Love Rock is Milwaukee Brewing’s first year round production lager. The cold, long fermentation process that helps create such a smooth flavor. This recipe is pretty straight forward with the malts and two hop varieties. The Vienna style malt adds a nice toasty quality without overwhelming the beer. Our yeast guy tells us that this lager strain happens to be quite old. Many of the the major breweries in Milwaukee did, and still do, use this yeast. Love Rock is a refreshing and simple beer.

Somewhere between a smashable lager and a hoppy IPA lives our beautiful and wonderful Love Tap Double Lager. It has a pig on the label, wearing a hat, a monocle and a bow tie. Very fancy pig indeed. Well suited to a very fancy beer.

Named for a local war hero, this IPA was three years in the perfecting. Made with freshly picked cascade and centennial hops grown less than one mile from the brewery, creates this beer's clean, fresh citrus hops character.

A Portland Classic! This strong ale has a deep mahogany color and is crafted with seven different specialty malts. A touch of smoked malt gives it a complex aroma and incredible flavor. LSD is also generously hopped with six hop varieties to help create an awesome beer.

From the brewery: "A lawnmower beer with flavor. This pale golden German ale is light and crisp. Our only year-round beer. It has a slightly bready aroma and a spicy hop note from Herkules Hops."

Lucifer entered the market in the mid 1980s under the label of Liefmans breweries. It was an extension to the popular segment of strong, blonde beers. After Liefmans Breweries disappeared, Lucifer fell into the hands of our neighbours and friends Duvel Moortgat. However, they only wished to concentrate on Liefmans’ fruit beers. Lucifer was in danger of dying a silent death. But we didn’t let it get that far, our conscience couldn’t allow this to happen. Het Anker received the right to produce and commercialise Lucifer. May we roast in hell if it doesn’t follow the success of our own beers!

Luck Dragon is an American Strong Pale Ale. Brewed with a solid malty base, this beer is aggressively hopped at the end of the boil and then dry hopped heavily with CTZ, Galaxy, and Citra hops to create a wonderfully aromatic beer. Approaching IPA flavor but with the balance one would expect from a pale ale.

Black with garnet highlights, this porter is rich and full flavored with notes of chocolate, coffee & smoke playing off the sweeter toffee & dark dried fruit tones. Try this one with some smoked BBQ or chocolate dessert. Available in 12 oz bottles, 1/2 barrel keg, 1/6 barrel keg.

Meet Lucky Duck, the visionary who won Venice on a coin toss and built a grand system of salt water canals. One sip of this crisp and refreshing blonde ale enriched with agave nectar and Venice of America hops and you may just hit it big too. Light and refreshing blonde ale brewed with German malts and enriched with a touch of agave nectar. American hops brighten up the minimal sweeter tones to produce a clean, crisp finish.

Named after a traditional working man’s song covered by Johnny Cash and others, Lucky Ol’ Sun is a light, approachable, patio beer. It’s a pale golden Belgian-style ale brewed with Pilsner malt, Belgian candi sugar, Kent Goldings hops, and a little Texas honey. Light bodied and dry, this delicious golden brew delivers flavors and aromas of apple, pear, and honey with hints of banana and peach and a soft cereal graininess. At 5.5% ABV it is very drinkable and refreshing.

Don't be deceived by the robust, brown color of this signature American ale. Lucy boasts a modest 5%ALC, which means her bark doesn't quite match her bit. Why is this awesome? You can spend the night enjoying our bottles raccoon and not have to worry about looking like one when you wake up. Lucy is named after our Brew Master's pet raccoon, who picked the recipe for this brew.

LuftWeiss tm (literally, SKY Wheat Beer) is made with very pale malts to lighten the body and make the beer more drinkable and refreshing. A very small amount of pale wheat malt is combined with white wheat and pilsner barley malt, resulting in a straw color and a light body. The Perle and Cascade hops add just the right amount of bitter snap and a hint of citrus (so no need for lemon in this one). The real flavor comes from the choice of yeast strain. It is a very old yeast from Germany that produces a myriad of flavor compounds. Our fermentation schedule creates yeast phenolics (flavors) that combine mild spice and banana tastes.

Watch out for this one. Deep golden in color with a wonderful complexity from the classic Trappist yeast strain. Slightly sweet and fruity, with notes of orange, banana, spice, and soft alcohols. This high gravity tripel is surprisingly easy drinking with a light body, and will sneak up on you if you’re not careful. Addictive too… Naughty beer.

Luna Coffee Stout pours pitch black with hues deep mahogany. The two finger, fluffy, tan head recedes slowly leaving a nice, full lace for a very impressive look. With a solid, yet not overpowering aroma of coffee, you can still smell a hint of chocolate. The bold, rich taste of creamy coffee doesn't overwhelm the rest of the flavors leaving a hint of chocolate to finish. On a cold winter night, you couldn't ask for a better cold beer to warm you up.
