Don't let the golden color fool you - this isn't your father's lite beer! Brewed with imported German malts and US-grown hops, this beer is a full-flavored introduction to craft-brewed beer. We add the hops late in the boil, allowing you to enjoy the flavor and aroma of the hops without an aggressive bitterness. Aromas of orange, spice, and green grass. Clean malt-dominated flavor, with a subdued bitterness playing in the background of the aromas of this beer.

This beer is a favorite of our brewers, yet it will never win a GABF medal. All those categories and still no home for Liquid Sunshine. It's too blonde for a bitter and too bitter for a blonde. Still plenty yummy though. Who wants to brew the same beer everyone else is aiming for anyway.

Liquidambar, our flagship beer, is a lightly hopped American amber ale. Liquidambar is a crisp, malty beer with a beautiful caramel color. This brew is finished with a healthy handful of palisade hops that impart an incredible balance between malt and hops. This sessionable beer is made for drinking.

This unfiltered pale lager is all about subtlety and balance. Expect a delicate spice, a touch of honey, and rustic white bread in the nose of this classic Czech style pilsner. Flavors of bread crust and light malt meet the spice of traditional Czech Saaz hops and while the finish is crisp and bracingly bitter, everything is in balance.

Bavarian-style Hefeweizen. This is our signature product. Banana and Clove dominate the nose. The beer has a fluffy, wheat forward middle palate and a dry but smooth finish.

Named after one of our favorite ski runs at Monarch Mountain, Little Mo’ oozes aromas of chocolate, coffee and light floral hops. The palate hits with chocolate and coffee notes, balanced with a subtle bitterness. With a medium mouthfeel, the lingering sweetness from this malt forward beer will have you asking for just a Little Mo’!

Once upon a time in the ancient city of Düsseldorf, monks perfected a style of brewing that used the top-fermenting yeast of an ale and the cold conditioning of a lager. The result was a clean-tasting, full-bodied ale, known as altbier, At Grimm Brothers, we’ve crafted our own version of an altbier from specialty malts and the finest European and American hops. Like its namesake, Little Red Cap is copper-colored and alluringly sweet. But don’t be fooled – there’s some sass hidden under that hood. Big bad wolves beware!

A Cloudy, pale Belgian style ale brewed with equal parts Belgian Pilsner malts and wheat. It’s spiced with coriander and orange peel, both traditional to the style, along with a blend of other unique spices to produce notes of both pepper and citrus. A very easy drinking brew makes it a perfect beer for warm summer months.

Beer is made by creating a liquid rich with fermentable material. This ‘wort’ is moved to a fermentation vessel where yeast, a living organism, is added. Yeast swims around the fermenter gobbling up the soluble sugar and converting that energy into alcohol. Imagine the feeding frenzy of millions of tiny yeast cells eating their way around a big fermenter. It’s a volatile and active environment. During this time, the beer is literally alive. Just prior to packaging, we add a little yeast to the clear beer for a secondary fermentation. This helps to add carbonation, remove oxygen, and prolong shelf life. When we named the beer “Live” we wanted the label to have the feeling of live music. Our art department came up with the idea of using ticket stubs. Those shown here are from our staff at the brewery and our friends from around the country. Look closely– we may have rocked out at some of the same shows!

Mosaic Hopped Pale Ale

Lizzy’s Red is a unique blend of ale-style malts, lager yeast and mellow hops designed to create a one-of-a-kind flavor beer lovers everywhere can sit back and appreciate. This blending of brewing materials produces a caramel-like flavor with a clean, crisp finish and a distinctly hearty flavor and stands as an uplifting alternative to the every-day amber ale. Lizzy’s Red recently won the Gold medal at the 2013 Washington Beer Awards, a title this refreshingly crisp lager certainly deserves.

Our Lo - Cal Root Beer Soda is prepared in a hand-made, gas-fired kettle right at our micro-brewery. By using just a touch of real Wisconsin honey, pure vanilla and a host of botanicals, we produce our rich, rooty flavor and thick creamy head. (Note: contains the sweetener saccharin.) For your optimum enjoyment, serve in frosted mugs.

Dark lager beer existed decades before the dawn of the light Pilsner lager beer. Mainly due to the malting & drying practices of the day, the lack of technology denied the Brewers of malt that was both light in color and dry enough to store properly. LOBO Negro is a true “Dunkel” or dark brown lager with a spicy maltiness that is neither sweet nor too roastily dry. Our Lager yeast, working at low temperatures, imparts a clean roundness and balance to this world class beauty.

Local 702 Pale Ale 5.2%ABV, 40 IBUs This is a light bodied pale ale with the aromatics of an IPA. Moderate bitterness and great aromas of citrus and pine make it an easy drinking and sessionable beer. Ingredients: 2-row, crystal 35 malt, Munich malt, Columbus, Cascade, Simcoe El Dorado hops, California Ale yeast. Food Pairing: spicy dishes, hamburgers, hot wings

Honey Rye Golden Ale brewed with locally sourced honey. The Buzz is refreshingly crisp with a sweet floral aroma. Rye malt adds a clean, spicy finish.

Local’s is a light, yet very tasty lager. The light pilsen malt creates a soft and subtle flavor profile that finishes crisp and clean on your palate. Local’s is a perfect beer for the seasoned craft brew enthusiast and someone new to microbrews. When Short’s first opened, there was not a great deal of craft beer available in the area. Joe Short wanted to create a beer that would appeal to new craft beer drinkers who lived in Michigan, and introduce them to the complex flavors of other beer styles.

A little darker than many I.P.As, we have seven hop additions to this 90 minute boil for a strong, yet not overpowering hop presence.

An American brown-style ale with a smooth character, led by a warm nutty flavor, fueled with hints of chocolate.

Very clean, crisp, and refreshing, this is a great beer for the newbie to the craft beer scene. The name Logger is a tribute to the logging community in the area. Contrary to the name it’s not a lager, but our take on the Cream style ale. 2-row malted barley and flaked corn make up the grain bill, and German Hallertau are the hops.
