Triple IPA

One sip and you’ll be under our spell! Brewed with all German malts and hops in the style of a Schwarzbier, our Spell Caster Black Ale lures you in with the Carafa Special Malt which gives the brew a unique, rich and elegant chocolate flavor without being roasty like a porter or stout. Even non dark beer fans will be cast up in the spell of enjoyment.

The first release in our Wild Ale series, this Saison is brewed with spelt and 100% brett fermented in oak barrels. Spelt gives the beer a crisp, refreshing slightly bready character while our house brett culture, Machine Gun Funk, provides the fruit forward notes of pineapple and tropical fruits.

Nutty, with banana and cloves on the nose. A heartier saison offering with a medium body and pleasant flavors of bread and grain before a dry finish.

SPENCER (The Dispenser of Provisions) is our annual fruit beer. In the early fall, we harvest wild blackcurrant fruit and add it to a batch of year-old SAHALIE. The sugars in the fruit produce another fermentation and the blackcurrant tannins create additional structure over the 8-month aging period. Prior to bottling, the beer is dry-hopped for a month in oak barrels. With close to 2 years in oak, Spencer has a much more developed Brettanomyces character than our other beers.
 Because of the extremely limited quantity of wild blackcurrant available, we produce only one oak barrel of Spencer every year. This beer is unlabeled and reserved exclusively for our Ale Club members. The 2014 currant harvest was sadly very small. It seems that counting on this every year is not in the cards. We have started using a combination of farmed and wild currant for 2015 Spencer.

The distilleries of Speyside are world-famous for their smooth, sophisticated malt whiskies. This blonde ale marries sweet vanilla notes from Speyside whisky-seasoned oak with a classic full-bodied golden beer from Belhaven. A class act! George Howell - Master Brewer, Belhaven.
